zneeze Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 That's what I always want to say when someone laughs about someone else's sneezing Seriously, why do people find humor in sneezing in the vast majority of cases that aren't some funny-sounding noise? Have you ever had someone call your sneeze funny for any reason, or have you seen it happen? Thankfully I haven't had to deal with it myself, but I feel bad for some women whose sneezes I've enjoyed sneezing, I've said bless you, and suddenly someone else says something goony and dumb. "Was that a sneeze?" at a particularly small or quiet sneeze is perhaps my least favorite.
Ben Drowned Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 thank you! when ever I sneeze some people are like "that's a sneeze?" or "what was that?" I've even heard "you sound like a dying lizard" where do you get that from my sneezes are high pitched at times and are a little loud, but what the heck where did you get that one from buko!?
SneezeManDE Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Its the worst. Sometimes i just awkwardly laugh along just to avoid having to talk about it any more than nessicary lol
Saimou Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Yeah, it’s all too familiar to me. Though thankfully, no one has ever found my sneezes particularly funny. But it pisses me off that such beautiful sneezes, even ones that I reckon should sound fairly normal for non-fetishists, are only complimented with laughter and mockery. It’s sexy, not funny! Well, another quirk of non-fetishists that we’ll likely never understand . Well, take care and keep sneezing, everyone. Saimou
SneezyKateM Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 It is the worst. People laughing at me sneezing draws even more attention I don't want.
justaquirkygirl Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 I've had people laugh and say it's cute when I sneeze... which may be why I do my best never to sneeze in front of people.
SleepingPhlox Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I think it's just the bodily function aspect, maybe? I work with someone who finds it absolutely imperative to comment and laugh any time someone's stomach rumbles and also comments on odd sneezes so I think that when bodies do things that we can't control, some people find it funny or feel awkward so they laugh about it? But I've never heard anyone laugh at coughs so that could be that theory out the window! And bodily functions aren't even all that funny. Except farts. Those are hilarious.
March Hare Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 People find humour in the unfunniest things. Senses of humour vary wildly. That's all.
SneezyHolmes Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 It doesn't honestly bother me at this point in my life. I had a friend that insisted I had 'kitten sneezes' but most people just ask me "What the heck was that? A sneeze?" since I tend to stifle to the point that it just sounds like a weird sound/cough rather than an actual sneeze. But as March Hare said, I think it just boils down to individual humor senses.
