Never heard of Yiddish before it was a little baffling

Yiddish is a language that Eastern European Jews spoke. It was a dialect that mixed German and Russian and was spelled using the Hebrew alphabet. It has mostly died out as a spoken language but many Yiddish words have made it to English. Mostly curse words but a non curse example is klutz. Geshuntiet is not Yiddish. It’s German.
