Jeff1 Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 I recently just got over what I would consider to be the sneeziest cold I’ve ever had. Granted the cold morphed into a sinus infection but either way- my nose was working overtime. It lasted for almost two weeks with more sneezy parts than others but I honestly do not remember a more stuffy, drippy, congested and sneezy cold than this one. Thank god for cold meds, lol. I remember a particular sneezy couple of days during it. Mornings were especially rough. I woke up completely congested and would almost immediately feel an urge to sneeze, before I could get to the bathroom to blow for an average of several minutes. It got to the point where it would be routine for me to sit up and grab several tissues from my nightstand..and just wait a few seconds before my eyes started watering, nose dripping and then the tickle would start. My nostrils would begin to flare slightly as I brought tissues close to my nose. These first few sneezes in the morning always felt so good but would usually be the stubborn kind and produce at least one or two false starts. Eventually, I’d hehh ehhh... hehhhIIISSHOOO!! Ehh.. EhhhIIISHHHHHEEWW! Into the tissues, totally soaking them and then wait for at least one more. I’d grab several more Kleenex and after a congested sigh, blow and blow which sometimes produced an extra desperate sneeze or two. It was definately the worst cold I’ve had in a long time and certainly the sneeziest. When was your sneeziest cold and what set it apart? Id love to hear about your sneeziest cold.
Ben Drowned Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 @Jeff1 wow that sounds rough, my cold sounds like it was just the sniffles compared to you. Mine was actually not to long ago, I'd caught it the week of my birthday, I'm still pretty young so still do school, and boy was it grueling. I had band the first day of my cold, and that isn't a good thing if you have a head cold and a you have breathing problems on top of that. So that day we'd practiced our music, my friends where laughing when I showed up with my hair messy. I ha my trumpet ready and I had to warm it up and test it to make sure it worked. So I did, and then sneezed into it accidentally. My friend just stared at me, I took the trumpet away from my face and sneezed into my arm "Ackchiee!" My friend blessed me, my other friends who are girls on is a xylophone player and the other a tuba. they both blessed me, the tuba player laughed at me when I sneezed and knocked my music off my stand. We'd had a sub and hew knew nothing about how to teach us but we did it on our own but most of the time I was busy blowing my nose I probably sounded like my trumpet I got back and sneezed wet ly into my sleeve the first one soaked it automatically "AckShiew!....Achiee!" I kept sneezing in my other classes usually my tuba friend is sneezier than I am but I beat her record which was 26 I did 28 wet sneezes "ackshiez! Ashiee! Het.Chiee!...Chu! x7" god my friend threw thee tissue box at me, and my teacher said "well some body beat the sneezy girl" he meant my friend then I let out a teasing false start "hah..heh.ahh?" Rubbing my nose nothing I turned to my desk and then "ACKSHIEEZ!" Slammed my head on the desk, with a sneeze so loud it hurt my throat. I was like that for the rest of the week till my birthday, and now my cold is back to kill me
Joe Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Either the one I've just got over, or the one I wrote about here - both for the fact that they completely tore down my mental block and gave me some of the most desperately sneezy days I've ever experienced in my life!

Wow, that sounds so hot for me. (although Im sorry for you, that you felt so bad. ) To come back to your question. I have to say, that Im not often suffer from a cold. A few years ago I made experiment, I counted my sneezes for half a year.(from 01.01. to 30.06 - by the way exact 600 sneezes in 6 months - I have no allergies .) I had one cold at this time, in January and this was extraordinary sneezy. There were 2 extreme sneezy days, one day I sneezed 34 times, the next day even 39 times per day. (in fits of 7x1, 4x2, 5x3, 1x4, 1x5). I think, it could be the sneeziest day in my life. Even if I have a cold one or two times per season, I can´t remember that there was another one with so much sneezes.
Stargirl Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Mine was a couple of years ago. My colds are usually just head colds with a bit of a sore throat. This time the sneezing was what alerted me to the oncoming cold. I actually couldn’t stop sneezing in fits of two or three throughout the day. Then, when the snot came in, the Tickle continued for another two days before it headed to my sinuses. This caused less frequent sneezes but still more than normal. The sneezing part of the cold lasted about a week but the snot lasted for about three.
Jeff1 Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 Thanks for the replies. I honestly thought there might be more recent observations, at least where I live, everyone is sick! Here’s to a healthier 2018!
