I'm sick for the third time in four months (F, self)

I recently got back into theater and have consequently caught multiple colds (thanks, kids). I suspect the problem is my thyroid, since I've been having some symptoms of hypothyroidism and my results came back either very high or very low in the "normal" range recently. (Double thanks, genetics.) At any rate...

My throat hurts, my lymph nodes are swollen, and I'm coughing much more than I'm sneezing - deep and chesty. It sounds about as bad as it is, since I also have asthma. In terms of sneezing, I was at work yesterday under a biological lab hood - and I realize this is my second sneezing-in-a-lab-coat self-obs, but what can you do - when my nose itched. Not a good situation when you're pipetting isopropanol. So I stifled - "Hh'GHNKKuh!" - and only spilled a miniscule amount. When they're free, my cold sneezes have sounded something along the lines of "HAESSHHHHHH!", harsh and kind of throaty. I'm just glad that I haven't had any today, since my nose is stuffed to hell and back. Not even Sudafed has made a dent in it.

I've been blowing my nose, not that it helps, in either a towel or a bandana all day. Not much comes out, and I just stuff right back up - my speaking voice sounds like a fetishist's dream (you should hear me try to say anything with an 'm' in it). Fun. At least I have the flexibility to stay home.

Aww bless you.

That's unfortunate that you're sick for the 3rd time in 4 months.

Get well soon

I feel you. I was diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's) 7 years ago and it definitely influences how often you get sick. I probably average 4-6 colds a year now. Just to derail for a moment, very high bloods don't necessarily mean overactive. It can indicate hypothyroidism; high levels of TSH mean underactive, which seems counterproductive, but it's true! And low levels of T3 and T4 indicate it too.

Sorry you'r feeling bad though. I hope you start to feel better soon >w<

Update: sinus infection. :( I called in sick again, obviously. And last night the bumper fell off my car because I hit the carport pole with it due to vertigo.
