something has crossed my mind...

o.k. so I have been thinking about humanity in general, how we as a species tend to mis-use everything. for example nuclear power Einstein and many others intended to use nuclear power for the good of our species. then other a******s took the technology and built nuclear weapons. then it occurred to me, we all know the number of people with hay fever type allergies is steadily increasing. it's likely (theoretically) that eventually someday every person in the world might have it. followed by a darker thought I wonder if some A*****e might decide to someday weaponize that. for example instead of people carrying pepper spray cans or mace, instead carrying around cans of like ragweed pollens or something. was wondering if it had occurred to any-one else. second what everyone's opinion of something like that would be. for myself that would be a horrific idea and completely terrible and unconscionable not to mention cruel! (not that pepper spray or mace aren't cruel they are but...) I don't have any allergies myself (that I know of anyways) but I know a lot of people who do. and the thought of such an awful thing it can't happen right? nobody could be that mean or cruel... could they?

Chances of that are essentially zero. It would be pointless to weaponize allergens when 1. mace exists and is very effective, and 2. everybody reacts differently to allergens, making them ineffective to weaponize.

Also, it's fine to type assholes on the forum. Everybody knows what word you're implying so there's no need to censor it.

This sounds a bit more like fan fiction than a real thing that could happen. :P

There are just so many better options out there if someone intended to weaponize a thing.

yeah but I also am aware we're not supposed to use words like that outside of snake pit, so was trying to show my feelings towards some-one who would try such a thing,  yet have it edited enough so that I wouldn't get in trouble... again. and I wouldn't doubt they may try in the future to try such a thing. our world is full of such yintagh p'taq types who would try to create new ways to harm others.

It would indeed be awful of someone to abuse or take advantage of someones allergies against their will, without consent and with the intent if harming them.

I just don't see that as ever really happening with the wide assortment of easy, more dangerous and more plentiful weaponized items humanity currently possess.  This feels very unrealistic to me personally.

Mileage may vary!

According to the forum constitution, you're allowed to swear outside of the Snake Pit, FYI, as long as you're not flaming another member. I do it all the fuckin' time.

People already create much much crueler (and efficient) things than spray cans of pollen......

yeah I know people can create much crueler things then pollen weapons. it's kinda the whole thing that bothers me, I could picture someone cruel enough to do such a thing as create allergy weapons, and even worse things then what already have been created. I often find reason to despair about our species and future (or lack there of) and little reason to hope. yet even so I cannot give up what hope I do find.
