all the sneezes

This is a string of older obs that I never got around to typing out.

I found out my friend has photic sneezing and he is also allergic to hops! He almost always sneezes when he drinks IPAs. He usually only sneezes once (maybe twice) naturally and they're always wet but with these allergies the sneezes are much, much more frequent.

 

Photic sneezes:

We went out for breakfast with some friends and we're all walking down the sidewalk, chatting, after leaving the place. I notice him start to taper off behind while sort of staggering and I turned around to see what the fuss was. He was sneezing and trying to keep up with our pace while pretending he wasn't sneezing so much. (He doesn't like when the attention is focused on him). He sneezed three times uncovered, "huh..ATchh'oo, Ah-aschoo, AAtschoo" and then stopped for half a second. The sneezes weren't too loud but they were powerful enough to make him bend at the waist for each sneeze with one had on his stomach, something he typically does. He continued with a couple of wet, single sneezes that were spaced out a bit. This was the first time I found out he's photic so I asked, "you gonna make it?" and he said, "I think so unless--". He started his pre-sneeze face and turned to the side, "uSSCHhoo", he sneezed into both of his hands and then we laughed and continued on.

He came to visit me last week and we were leaving someplace and walking back to my car and he sneezed once, "hah't'schoo!" and then again, "aahtschhoo!" I went to put something in the trunk while he got in. I open the car door and get into the driver's seat. He's suuuper sniffly at this point and immediately let's out an, "ASSSCHHHoo!" I joked around telling him "plz stop sneezing in my car" and he replied, "i already sneezed like 4 times so...what're you gonna do about it?" (ugh, dehd/also sad i missed the other ones).

Earlier that day we were in the car and he was talking about something I can't remember. He had just put his hand on my thigh while i was driving and then quickly took it away. I was confused for a second but saw through my peripheral vision that he had slightly turned to let out a huge, full sneeze "hessshhSHHEWW!" It seemed unexpected to him, too. I blessed him and he just carried on the conversation.

We were on the train during the day and I don't know how it happened because we weren't coming out of the tunnel or anything but maybe the sun just got brighter, etc. And we were just kinda chillin in silence for a minute, holding hands, and he stifled, "Hih’ATSchh!" It was the first time i heard him stifle because he usually lets them out in public and there were only a couple of people on the train. But it was super hot and they usually aren't my first preference.

Hops sneezes:

[So these make me go crazy because he starts getting sososoSO sniffly at first and kind of congested before any sneezes actually happen. And he is a shy human being so he always tries to be inconspicuous about wiping his nose wherever we are, in public or not. We went out for curry once and he'd bend down a bit to get closer to the napkin on his lap before wiping his nose, haha. He'll never blow his nose in front of me, only wipe it, which im fine with because I'm not into noseblowing anyway.]

We went out for drinks with friends and we're all having side conversations with each other at this point. I wound up sneezing and he was the only one who blessed me, and very sincerely, for lack of a better word (unf). Less than five minutes later he sneezed once into his hand, "AAH-uSSCHhoo!" I joked, "you sure you can handle that?" and he said "I ain't scurrred. Plus, IPA's tend to be my favorites."

We were drinking at his place with some friends and were sharing the couch. He sneezed twice, "AAASSSCHHooo!" and I joked, "dont die." He replied, "never. i still have two more beers to finish." they were also IPAs, loaded with hops

We went to a bodega one night to grab beer and I definitely steered us into the direction of splitting IPAs. whoops. BUT! I don't feel too bad because the following night I had him choose and he also picked an IPA, soooo.... Yah, he didn't wind up sneezing the first night which was a little disappointing but he was definitely sniffly when we were cuddling which drove me absolutely heckin' crazy.

Gee, thanks! I really have no idea what I'm doing with them but I'm glad it works. I was just replaying the sound in my head a bajilion times (torture) and trying to connect it with what I was writing; It's good to know I'm on the right track. I'll definitely post some more soon. & you're welcome (:

I sometimes sneeze from bright light and normally its once, rarely two times. Depends how dark its been beforehand though.

Your spellings are absolutely fine! By the way, I’m probably one of the younger users, so I need to ask, what are IPAs and hops?
