"I'm dead if you sneeze" (self-obs)

Thoughts of you all in a specific context : group singing.

My neighbor happened to be a kind, slender wisp of a girl, and we were surrounded with people apparently lost. I guess I got most of it right, for she leaned closer and closer until she could hear me well and follow me.

At some point, she looked up at me, smiled sheepishly and said :

"If you so much as sneeze, I'm dead."

Guess she didn't get why I laughed so hard.

I totally picture the scene. I guess I would have laughed too - and maybe felt a bit awkward.

@bben9  She really meant "don't stop singing, I'm relying on you too much to stay on tune", but in our fetishist context, "I'm dead if you sneeze" could have been heard much differently, a thing she couldn't possibly be aware of. That's what was funny.

I’m so glad you said that because I thought she meant, “I’m standing so close to you, so if you sneeze it’ll get on me.” Your explanation was so much funnier!
