I have a question.

So I’m thinking of writing a fanfic, but it’s going to be for this community and a community for the fandom that I’m in. In the fanfic, should I spell out the sneezes, or no? I’m really confused on this, since like I said before, the fanfic is going to be for this community, and for the fandom community, which is composed of mostly non-sneeze fetishists. A few years ago there was this poll within the forum. Most members prefer sneezes to be spelled out (and so do I ), but many of us enjoy sneezefics without spelled out sneezes (and also H/C in general) as well. So it's kinda your choice what you prefer. 

There will be some non-fetishists wondering why you spell out the sneezes, but they won't suspect a fetish behind all this. After all, everything is better than this standard "achoo", so they might just think you wanted to be funny, creative, very detailed or whatever. 

If you're uncomfortable anyway, you could just write two versions and/or cut out the sneezes in the fic for the fandom community. I sometimes do that when I want to show some parts to my friends. They probably don't know that something like a sneeze fetish even exists, but it's an awkward situation for me anyway.

I was debating this same issue years ago, and I actually asked on a forum within fanfiction.net for the people that just generally like H/C. I did get some responses from people saying that it was weird and others that said that they didn't really care, but there was one person that had actually stumbled upon this community and stated that spelled out sneezes tended to be from sites like this. So yeah, most people probably won't realize it's a fetish thing, but there are definitely some non-fetishists that will.

So hearing that was enough to make me decide to never spell sneezes out for fics that I'm posting outside of this community. If you really want to,  you could write a version with spelled out sneezes and one where they aren't spelled out and just described. I know most people in this community prefer spelled out sneezes, but I actually stopped doing it for the most part except for an RP that I'm doing. This way I don't have to write two versions of things, and I honestly found spelling them out to be really tedious after awhile and enjoyed writing more if I didn't have to bother with it. Part of the upside to not spelling them out is that people can imagine the sneezes sounding however they like.

Anyway, you're certainly free to write your fics how you like, but that's just my take and experience with the issue.
