NYT The Daily Podcast - Background Sneezes - M

I was catching up on episodes on The Daily (New York Times podcast), and in the January 4 episode, Michael goes to meet with a colleague at the U.S. Capitol, in the area where the NYT reporters hang out/work. At the moment he's greeting her, there's a strong, masculine sneeze in the background, followed a few seconds later by another, clearly from the same person. My mental image is that the first one was either uncovered or maybe covered with a hand hovering in front of the face, because it sounded completely unmuffled, unstifled, with spray, while the guy managed to get his hand or elbow up for the second, which is very slightly less clear/more restrained. 

The segment starts at about 1:15, and first sneeze happens right at the 1:30 mark. Should be available on the podcasting platform of your choice. A nice surprise in my day. 🙂 

 

(Speaking of The Daily, does anyone happen to remember in which episode Michael Barbaro was hosting with almost no voice? It absolutely made me melt. There's something about people who have to get on the radio/tv/stage regardless of how they're feeling because the show must go on that just... *gestures vaguely at vulnerability/caretaking-type-feelings*)
