Purplelily Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 There’s a lady I work with who sneezes an average of 2 or 3 times a day. Which I consider pretty sneezy. I don’t know if she has allergies or if she’s just a naturally sneezy person, but she always stifles her sneezes. I’ve been wanting to hear her let go for a few months now. Today it finally happened. I was grabbing some coffee from the breakroom and she was still in there doing something. As I was leaving, I hear her take a shaky breath which catches my attention. Then I hear the weirdest sneeze I’ve ever heard. It sounded like she was yelling. If I had to spell it, I think it would be like ah ah OOOOOOOOOOOO. It was so strange. It didn’t have any of the “chew” sound people normally have. It seemed to make her really sniffly, which was a bonus for me. I guess this is her natural sneeze. I think I know why she stifles when she thinks people are around to hear it!
Anonymouse Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Are you sure she wasn't trying to howl (awoooo?) We did have a super blood wolf moon last night.

I have heard many men sneeze "without consonants", there is a sneeze-like rhythm but it's missing all those consonant-y sounds. I guess it's the positioning of the tongue when it's guiding the air up towards the nose. Using back of the tongue more than front I would assume?
