Sneezy friend (m, minimal details)

So tonight, I went over to my friend’s house to hang out...only to discover that said friend has apparently been sneezing for days. And OF COURSE he has big, desperate-sounding sneezes, and OF COURSE tonight they’ve been accompanied by multiple false-starts. And OF COURSE he’s the kind of friend who—despite us not being sexually or romantically involved AT ALL—I (mutually) flirt with all the time, making it damn near IMPOSSIBLE for me to keep restraining my urges to take care of him and call him “baby” and “sweetheart”...but that would give me away in a heartbeat, because our flirting is always of the jokey, sarcastic variety. (More throwing a box of tissues at his head than cooing at his sneezes, if that makes any sense.) So I’m having to limit myself to exclaiming “gesundheit!” after every sneeze and DESPERATELY wishing I could do more! FML...except not, because God, I wouldn’t miss this show for the world!

Update: it is probably a REALLY good thing his roommate came home right before his other friends left, because I’m not sure I could’ve stopped myself from getting all care-taking if we’d been alone together! Though a few things (including a very un-me-like “Get some rest!”) did slip out even so.
