HoneyBunny Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 So I've just finished an intensive Russian course in college, and I was really excited as the class met for four hours every day for two weeks, which meant that there was bound to be some sneeze action going on -- and boy did it not disappoint! Probably almost half of the class had a cold by the end of the two weeks and there were many good obs, but I'd like to focus on one in particular. The subject of the obs - we'll call him L - is 20 years old, around 5'9, athletic built, short light brown hair, big hazel eyes, small slightly up-turned nose, and the most gorgeous radiant smile that makes my heart melt. (You can probably tell I've got a little crush on him...) One day, after many of our classmates had already succumbed to the cold that's going around, L started coughing these sweet dry little coughs, covered either with a fist or the collar of his shirt. He was also blowing his nose quite a few times, but since he didn't bring tissues he had to use the awful one-ply toilet paper from the school bathrooms. The next day he wasn't coughing as much, so I thought his cold had gone away already, but (lucky for me) turns out it hadn't. He was blowing his nose again, this time into paper towels, also from the bathrooms. I was just minding my own business when I heard a sneeze behind me - and sure enough it was him! If I had to spell it was like "huh'Aasch!" The sound was kind of basic tbh, but it was quite forceful and sounded like it came from deep in his lungs, if that makes sense. As he was sitting behind me I didn't see how he covered, but I assume it was either into his fist or his collar, just like his coughs. Afterwards he started digging through his pockets for a clean tissue or paper towel, but he came up empty, so he ended up re-using one of the paper towels he had blown his nose into earlier. Then at lunch break, a few of us were standing outside in a circle and talking. Suddenly L turned around and walked a few steps away from the group, sneezing openly with his hands still in his pockets. The sound was the same as earlier, still forceful and kind of chesty. I just thought this was really cute bc I assumed he covered when he sneezed before in class, and now he gave up on covering, but was still polite enough to walk away from the group. Later in class L sneezed again (and again I didn't get to see it, sadly) and a few seconds later he whispered "Does anyone have a tissue?" to the people sitting next to him. I was going to give him one, but the girl sitting right next to him got to it faster than me, haha. As he was blowing his nose, the professor made a comment on how everyone in the class seemed to be sick at the moment. L was just like, yeah, and smiled sheepishly. (I almost died at that point.) ... Sorry if this obs got too long, but it was just so adorable and I'm still a bit weak in the knees when I think about it, so please excuse my rambling!
Bleh Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Wow, thanks for the cool obs. He seemed to be blowing his nose a lot in class as well as sneezing. Do you know if he a loud nose blower or more quiet?
