Yawning after sneezing?

I don't recall this ever being discussed on the forum (apologies if it has)...........

......but I have noticed different people yawning directly after sneezing on enough occasions, to make me think that it must be a thing.

Rather than google it first, I thought it would be interesting to see if others have noticed it, so I'd be grateful if you would share your thoughts and/or experiences (if any) with regard to this.

I've noticed it too! I wonder why it happens, like what the correlation is between the two actions for our bodies. It happens to me on occasion but I've never really stopped to think about it. Interested to hear what others have to say!

I personally HATE when people do that!  It's definitely a thing though.

It seems to happen all the time! I'll think they're about to have another sneeze and it turns out to be a yawn.

Good, that this question came up! I wonder since  many years and I`m very curious, if there is an explanation for this phenomen. Because of course not all people yawn afterwards, only a few ones, but enough to notice it.

It doesn't happen to me often, but if it does, it's usually after a little fit of sneezes and the yawn is like a good deep breath. Like my lungs wanted more air than they were getting while sneezing

My man just did this today. We were on the phone, he sneezed twice, made a comment about possibly being a third one coming, but then he yawned instead. Interesting, as I never really thought about it before. I’ll have to start paying more attention now. 😋

Funny thing, I've never noticed this before! Maybe I should look out to see if this happens.

so glad u said this, i was beginning to feel weird! i definitely never noticed this either.

my only guess is maybe they're tired bc of whatever was causing it, like a cold or something??

No, I've never noticed this either. Sometimes you think someone's about to sneeze and then it turns out to be just a yawn, but I've never seen anyone yawn after sneezing.
