Dusty15 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Some overly sweet, slightly messy allergic first person fic. - When you get home from work, the sight that greets you makes your heart sink. He's sitting on the couch with a massive glass of water and a box of tissues on the coffee table. His normally handsome face is muddied with two red, swollen, watery eyes and a nose that looks painfully pink at the edges. He gives you a half-hearted smile as he reaches for a tissue and blows his nose with a long, strained sound. “Oh, love,” you say. “Did you take something?” He nods and sniffles thickly before responding. “My prescription this morning and this afternoon and I stopped on the way home and got some more stuff to help and I did my nasal spray. This is me after all that and a shower.” He shakes his head miserably and sighs. “The pollen count is through the roof. Boss said I can work from here if it's this bad tomorrow. I could barely get through a meeting without interrupting it with a sneezing fit.” “I'm sorry you're miserable,” you say sympathetically, approaching him to sit down. “No- please don—ehhh...” He holds out a hand for you to stay away and his breath hitches frantically. His glowing pink nose twitches and wrinkles in irritation. His hands find a half-sodden tissue and press it to his face. Hurhh-TSGHH! Ehh-TSCHTT! He sneezes roughly into the kleenex and wipes his nose, blinking away a stream of allergic tears that leak down his cheeks. “I'm sorry,” he said, voice muddled with congestion. “It's just so bad out there. Can you change your clothes before you come near me? I'm just—ehh...ju—hehhh-TSXHHT!I'm just on pollen overload right now." "Of course,” you say, backing away. “I will. Can I get you anything first?” “A new immune system?” he says dryly. “If I could, I would,” you tell him. “Be right back.” You shed your work clothes in favour of sweatpants and tee-shirt before rejoining him in the living room. You find him mid build-up, hands hovering expectantly in front of his face as he struggles against the itch. Hehh....nehhh....hehh.....ehhh-TSGHT! TsGHT! He explodes forward into cupped hands and shakes with each urgent outburst. You sit at his side and rub his shuddering back as the fit continues. Eh-TSGHT! Tsh-GXHT! Hehh....ehh....ehhh-TSGHXHT! He takes a wheezy, desperate breath and launches back into the fit, now stifling the sneezes. NghGHT! Ts'GXHT! Ts'GSXHTT! “Let it out,” you soothe, reaching for a clean tissue and guiding it to his hand. He wipes a shiny trail of snot from his upper lip and sneezes one last, massive outburst into the cloth. Hurh-TSGXHHHT! He flops back against the couch cushions, utterly exhausted. You snuggle up to his side, running your fingers through his hair. He sniffles miserably. “Fuck, I'm so congested,” he says with a groan. “My head feels like it's gonna burst.” “I know, babe,” you soothe. “Would maybe a warm towel help?” “Probably not, but I'll try anything at this point,” he says. You plant a kiss on top of his head and go to soak two washcloths in hot water. You return with it and gently guide him to lean against you. You drape one hot towel across his sinuses and gently wipe his swollen eyes with the other. He sighs a little, relaxing into your touch. Then you suddenly feel the muscles of his back tense against your side and he sits up, reaching for a fresh tissue as the towel slips from his face. He's unable to reach the box before an itchy sneeze bursts out. Huh-GSHHT! Snot leaks down his lip and he hurriedly presses a tissue to his nose. TSSH-SXHTT! “Oh, babe,” you say with a sigh as he blows his nose with a gurgling, wet sound. “I'm sorry, I'm so gross,” he says, taking the tissues from the coffee table and putting them closer at his side. He tosses a sodden one towards the trash can and plucks out a few more, wiping his nose again. The skin there is raw and red from the moisture and constant blowing. His breath hitches again and you feel a pang of sympathy for him as he fights another sneeze. He looks utterly exhausted from it all. “Heh....ehhh—hehh...oh fuck c'mon,” he moans, tissue poised in front of his face. He scrunches up his nose, wriggling it and then pinches it with his fingers. “Ehhh....heh.....oh christ, it's stuck.” He's caught in the pose of anticipation, face twitching with each new twinge of itchiness. He moans miserably, pushing up his nose with his palm and massaging it in a slow circle. “C'mon....” he urges, breath hitching wildly again. Hehh...ehhh.... You stroke his hair and plant a kiss on his neck. “Come out, sneezes,” you whisper teasingly. He shakes his head like a horse irritated by flies and takes a final, gasping breath before the tickle peeks and explodes into a sneeze. Hehh—ahhh-TSGHCHHHHT! Ngh'TSCH! Hehh...ehh-TSGHT! He's bent forward, wrenching with each urgent spasm. As the last sneeze tears out of him with violent force and he stays bent forward, panting with exhaustion as his eyes water freely down his face. You gently guide him back upright and into your embrace, reaching for the fallen towel and wiping his eyes. You very carefully dab around his nose, taking pains not to irritate it further. His eyes are drooping with exhaustion now and he allows himself to recline against your chest. You smooth back his hair and speak softly. “Let's get you into bed, love,” you say. “You're exhausted.” He nods wearily. “I don't know that I'll get much sleep...I'm so stuffed up. But I'm so tired.” “I know, babe. I'll try to make you as comfortable as I can.” You lead him to the bedroom and get him settled against a stack of pillows to keep him elevated. “Get cozy,” you say. “I'm going to go grab the tissue box for you.” By the time you return with the box and a fresh glass of water, he's passed out, snoring softly through his open mouth. Quietly, you put the tissues and glass on the bedside table and then lean over to kiss him on the cheek. “Get some rest,” you whisper, shutting the bedroom door behind you.
Coffee Mug Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Oh, so unbelievably allergic and cute 💜 wow, this story is going straight to my fav ones! 😍😍
SomethingClever Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Dusty. Damn. I'm generally here for everything you write, but this is straight fire ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
Reader Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Loved this! I don’t know how you were able to keep the “You” person in character because that person would have pounced if I was writing hahahahahahaha
lul AAA Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 wow, a long time I didn't read such a great story! You write amazingly!
Juniebee Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Love this! The main character sounds so deliciously hayfever-stricken! A hot , sneezey guy, with his wife (or husband, whatever floats their boat) comforting him? Yes, please! Awwhh, he's staying home bc of how bad his allergies are! So cute!!! Are you okay with requests? Would you be okay continuing this? With these characters? Could you do a role reversal? With a reversal of who is sneezey and suffering? Like , the wife has a bad cold, hubby takes care of her? Maybe even commenting on how he's normally the sneezey one? Just a request if you're okay with it- I just love how you write hurt/comfort 🥰
