BillyS Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I read a story book as a kid and in it were milkmaids outside a thatched roof cottage and they sneezed " ha issshhhh". That really turned me on. I'm just curious do people in rural areas have wetter sneezes than folk in urban areas??? Most city folk have dry cough like sneezes or sneezes that sound like farts. So do rural folk tend to sneeze along the lines of either " Ha iiissshhhh" Or " Ha chhhhhhehh"?
•.*°•☆. Q .☆•°*.• Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) the exact same way as people do everywhere else. where a person lives has less than nothing to do with what their sneeze is like. it's determined by their body. every person sneezes differently. there is some slight cultural variation between countries, which is mostly determined by what their word for a sneeze sound is. in english speaking countries it's more likely sound a like some variation on a-choo, in other countries it might sound closer to ha-chi or at-siu, but that's not a universal rule, and it's also not really relevant to wetness or driness which again is determined by a person's body, and not their location. BillyS Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 People who eat a lot of butter certainly have wetter sneezes and I can't argue with that!!!! Look at the French and Nordics. They have the wettest sneez known to mankind!!

Natto Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I’ve lived in a major city for my entire life and I’ve heard every type of sneeze imaginable. Have you never been to a city or have you just had incredibly weird luck?

Yeah after she eats a buttery meal and her sneezes can change to very wet sounding ones. Like from " aaahuuu" to " ha tissshhh"! Believe me. Iv been to french restaurants where they cook in tons of butter!

Also I can’t imagine consumption of butter would impact the sound of a sneeze, unless maybe someone is lactose intolerant and consuming dairy makes them produce more mucus. But maybe that’s beside the point.
SneezyHolmes Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 I live in a rural area, can confirm that we all sneeze like "YEEEEE HAWWWWWSHH".

Natto Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 People in NYC say “hey I’m sneezing here!” After every sneeze. Also their sneezes sound like “bada bing badachoo.”
