Sick boyfriend/self

I have been dating my boyfriend (who I’ll refer to as M) for over a year now, and we’ve been friends for about 7. He’s so caring, selfless, and loving; I couldn’t ask for anything more. M is very sneezy, and is severely allergic to dogs, cats, grass, pollen- you name it. He actually gets shots every few weeks because they are so bad These obs however are from when we first became more than friends and he came down with something. For a visual, M is about 6’3, fit, with beautiful light green eyes and brown hair.

The first time I went over his house, it was snowing and the roads were super icy so he came to pick me up. His parents were having a little party for the Super Bowl and invited me over to their place for the evening. While we were waiting for the game to start, M and I were sitting in the basement just talking when he turned and did a soft “hih...hi-tchiew” into his elbow. I nearly melted because it was so cute (especially because of how tall/built he is), and out of all of the years we had known each other this was the first sneeze of his I’d heard. I said “bless you M!” and he smiled and replied “thank you, (my name).” 

I thought that would be it for the night but boy was I wrong. Once the game started, everyone was in the living room watching it and M and I were sitting next to each other. Halfway through he sneezed quietly again, and I was the only one that blessed him. He said “thank you” with a smile and sniffled shyly. A few minutes later we were holding hands a little while we were watching and he sneezed a more desperate, but still pretty quiet double “huuh hi-chew! Hit-chiew!” I blessed him again and rubbed his arm a little asking if he felt okay. He thanked me and said “yes I’m just a little sniffly right now” while giving my hand a squeeze. His mom asked him if he’d taken his allergy medicine and he said no but he was fine. 

The rest of the night he was sniffly but the sneezes stopped. We both went out for ice cream later that night and he wanted to try mine so I gave him a bite off of my spoon, not thinking anything of it. The next day he texted me saying he was a little under the weather, but I was going away for the weekend so I couldn’t go see him :(.

During my weekend trip, I got a scratchy throat and started not feeling well but tried my best to hide it from my parents. When I came home, he asked to come over so we just hung out and watched movies. At this point we were not dating and I was really nervous about being sick around him. What if he thought it was gross? Or didn’t want to be near me? We were sitting next to each other at first and during the movie he gave me a sympathetic look and asked if I had the sniffles. I blushed and shyly said yes , looking down and trying to avoid the conversation. He laid down and asked if I wanted to cuddle which I obviously agreed to and he gave me back rubs the whole time. Every so often he would say aww when I sniffled and ask if I needed a tissue which was super sweet. Later on during the movie he leaned in and kissed me for the first time, and I was in awe. Even to this day he’s so caring whenever I’m sick and always makes me feel better ❤️.
