Thatonestranger Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I didn’t know exactly where to post this but I’m getting my wisdom teeth taken out next week and I’m worried that I might accidentally let it slip that I have the fetish. Am I worrying for nothing?
Reader Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I had the same worry when I had two of my wisdom teeth removed a few months ago. Due to that and an anesthesia reason, I opted to stay awake. They just give you some numbing medicine with that. If you don’t have that option and you do spill secrets, just try to play it off. If you’ve ever seen those videos where people are just waking up from surgery, you’ll understand that people don’t take what is said seriously. They just laugh. With how much gauze will be in your mouth plus how numb your lower face will be, it’ll be hard to understand what you’re saying. I remember having to repeat myself to different people. Good luck!
SneezyHolmes Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 When I had all four of mine cut out a while back I was so disoriented when I woke up that talking in general was nearly impossible (In fact I distinctly remember trying to get up by rolling off the side of the chair and totally taking out the small tray of tools that were left there for some reason!). But I also had enough anesthesia to knock me out completely because I'm a total wuss. I agree with Reader that most things said while you're drugged up will no doubt be shrugged off and at most garner a laugh or two (My mother informed me I repeatedly yelled at her that I was Dr. House and needed my vicodin!) so I wouldn't worry about it.

Willowwhip Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 You could opt to not have someone you love with you in the room while you're going under, or you could obstain from thinking about snez, although that sort of mental thinking usually takes more time and it miiiight be a "me" thing. I can stop thinking about any of my fetishes if i'm given like...2 to 3 weeks of correcting my thoughts. I don't experience arrousal like normal people so it's not a trigger for my fetishes for me. I've never seen a person and been like "Hot damn i wonder what they look like when they sneeze".
Luisa39 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) Wow, I'm surprised how widespread this worry is! Count me as another who opted to stay awake during wisdom tooth removal, due to the exact same worry the OP mentions. The dentist couldn't understand why I didn't want anesthesia, and was even rather nasty about my choice--but at the time (nearly 20 years ago) I figured it was worth it. Would I do the same today? Maybe--not so much out of fear of saying something embarrassing about my fetish, and more out of a fear (totally irrational, but I have an anxiety disorder) of anesthesia in general. (Basically, I figure, "Why "go under" if it's not absolutely necessary?) Just for the record, if you do choose to stay awake, you don't feel much or anything while they remove your wisdom teeth as they inject you with a lot of novicane. Edited July 5, 2019 by Luisa39
bloom Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 17 hours ago, Willowwhip said: I don't experience arrousal like normal people how do you know? pretty much all experiences of experiencing vs not experiencing arousal come under the umbrella of "normal" (unless it's someone victimizing someone else, obviously). sorry for the off-topic post, but i just don't understand how anyone can presume to understand how other people experience arousal when they themselves admittedly don't experience it that way?
Willowwhip Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I know this because I have talked with other people about how they experience arousal and I don’t experience it in the way they describe.
bloom Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) the way people experience arousal is not a universal experience. maybe you don't experience arousal the way they do because everybody's sexuality is unique to them. to expand upon this, i couldn't possibly describe the way i experience arousal universally and i would go so far as to say very few people can. it's different for me for many reasons: arousal with a partner vs alone, arousal with one partner vs another, arousal with just fantasy vs with a wav, arousal during different times of my menstrual cycle, arousal during different phases of my bipolarity, plus all of the ways any and all of these can intersect. none of this is special or unique or noteworthy in any way, really. most peoples' experiences of arousal aren't. •.*°•☆. Q .☆•°*.• Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 honestly this has been a fear of mine too. i don't want my oral surgeon to know i fuck a sneeze and i don't want to remind my parents (who found out on their own when i was an idiot teen) i've seen videos where people are like delirious coming out of anaesthesia and yelling and crying about wanting a girlfriend or yelling and crying that they just want to have sex, among other things that are a bit more ridiculous and i just? don't want to be half-drugged up and screaming about sneeze hot next time i go see the dentist i'm going to ask if i can opt out of having loved ones in the room with me until i've sobered up and become more lucid
Rhomberg Rabbit Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I wasn't even offered general anesthesia. my dentist just gave me a shot of novocaine and went ahead. I didn't feel any pain.
Thatonestranger Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 Okay thank y’all I feel slightly less nervous now😂
Shay Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Wow, I've been knocked out for various procedures, most of which weren't dental related so my speech wouldn't be impaired and it never even occurred to me that I might start talking about things that I'd rather not. As far as I know, I've never revealed any deep dark secrets after waking up from anesthesia. Usually it's more of a worry that I'll be irritable when waking up or even flat out emotionally unstable.
Thatonestranger Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 I had it done and I didn’t say anything so. Phew.
