Oh, I am here for the court drama. *rubs hands together excitedly* Love the little worldbuilding details (driftwood castle! Swamp elves!) and the hints of plot you've shown thus far.

I feel protective of poor sweet Nightingale already, even though he suffers so prettily (I'm guessing the waterlilies are the cause of his affliction? Unfortunate, when you live by the water and your lover has a habit of wearing lilies in his hair). Beledroth on the other hand seems a bit of a haughty jerk (if a very attractive one!) - honestly, the exact sort of character I'd like to see suffer a bit with a terrible cold or undignified allergy attack. 😈 I'm excited to see more interactions with these two, they have a very promising dynamic!

(Also a question: at one point Nightingale is referred to as a dark elf. Is that his... for want of a better word, sub-race of elf, or just a description of his hair or complexion? Just curious!)

@Losseneth ooh, Nightingale sounds gorgeous! I'd love to see art of him! 😍 Also pastel king Beledroth is a lovely mental image as well. (And I'm very intrigued by the sound of your naga OC!)

I'll admit I'm not the hugest fan of Tolkien's elves in general - I tend to gravitate more towards being invested in the dwarves and hobbits in his works, despite being a notorious elf-lover. Most of his elves are just a bit too distant and superior for me to be able to relate to them. (Though I did enjoy the drama saga of Feanor and sons in what I managed to get through of the Silmarillion.) It's been longer than I'd like to admit since I last read LotR, but I remember liking Glorfindel. :')

Can't wait to see more of these characters though! <3
