a_la _myself Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 My friend was moving and asked me to clean up her apartment as I used to do this in the past. She was moving out her final belongings with her son when I had arrived. She provided me with all the cleaning supplies I needed. My plan was to quickly plow through the cleaning. Now, I don’t always think about what I tend to be sensitive to. So, I was surprised when my nose and eyes started slightly running until I remembered that this usually happens when I clean. I’m going through each room sniffling and trying to stave off sneezing. When she was leaving and saying her goodbyes, I noticed my glove had slightly broken at the cuff. I went to grab another in the kitchen and found that the box was gone. Her son must have taken them thinking they were part of the move. I was upset that I would have to slow down to make the gloves last as long as possible. I got it into my head to not take off the gloves until I absolutely couldn’t use them anymore. Which then upset me a bit more when I felt the itching in my nose again. Since I was alone in an empty apartment, I just started to openly sneeze. This continues on and off throughout most of the day. I would be cleaning something only to sneeze and have to clean it again. The worst part of this happened as I was balancing on a sink/ vanity cleaning a large mirror and overhead lamps. A warning barley registered before I got caught in another sneezing fit. I was in an awkward position just trying not to fall off while spraying the mirror and vanity. On top of this, she had a dog that shed the most I’d ever seen. I had noticed that the hair was picked up before I got there but no one had thought to clean the closet where the vent was located. This left it up to me. I’m not even sure how long I spent clutching the broom as I just went with each sneeze instead of trying to stop them anymore. By this point, my nose was just always itchy and psyching me out with some hitching and breathy sneezes. I was so happy to get back home and use some tissues instead of just sneezing into the air and sniffling.
ThePokeFan599 Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Bless you to the heavens a_la_myself. Love this observation, and I bet you were never happier to see a tissue available in your life.
NoV Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Wow, sounds like quite the sneezing fit Do you think it was definitely the dog or are you allergic to any of the cleaning products...?

At first I was thinking dust, but after reading the obs more carefully, I have to agree on some of the cleaning products definitely being a viable candidate. Bless you for your amazing sneezing fit, though, a_la _myself .
Justasneezygirl Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Bless you! That sounds like an amazing fit!
