A Poll: What kind of OC do you want to read?

I’m dying to write something... and having zero inspiration for characters or prompts. So.  What do you want to read??

I can’t promise I can deliver everyone’s requests, but... it’s worth asking, no? ☺️

Miserably allergic lady in power position. :shifty::twisted:

(you know me, I love sneezy lady politicians in particular, but... any power position works.^^  there are endless possibilities for fetish fics re: top politicians actually, just think of all the situations they're in when you wouldn't want to sneeze; interviews, press conferences, debates, meetings, photo ops, speeches, fancy dinners/functions with important people… they travel to new places (new pollen), they meet a lot of people (contagion, not my thing but still), they do appearances in front of a lot of people (holdback scenarios). And they basically work 24/7, they can't just take a sick day but HAVE to work through it.   )

Some sort of summer vacation where everyone going ends up getting a bug and have to cancel their plans or try to ignore it and end up speeding the bug

I have this idea that I’m not sure that I’ll not be able to get around to writing that you’re strongly encouraged to write

Uber Eats/escort service but for care taking. This woman/person starts a business where people indicate what they want from her and she comes into their house and fulfills the role. Sometimes they just want her homemade soup, sometimes they want her to clean up their sick-nest and help with some small task, sometimes they want the full sick baby experience.

In my brain she has a whole story and a partner and her relationship is on the rocks because she puts so much energy into making this work and then her partner gets sick and is super annoyed that she’s spending more time on her clients than on them and then I made it too real and gave them bigger problems but I can’t  write it out because I refuse to get sidetracked from my story here.

Your sci-fi stuff is my favorite!

M/M sickfic.

Awkward-but-sassy duo-in-a-dangerous-profession bromance, Bruce-and-Alfred-in-Batman-Begins style. (I need to cut back on the hyphenations, don't I.)

Desperately allergic male is my favourite, and you always write that so well. But illness is also fine ;) Someone who is determined not to let allergies or illness change their plans whatever they have planned - business meeting, research, road trip, flying, date, ski vacation, hiking... anything... I love when you write from his pov instead of an observer too. The Sapien Saga was also great, are there any other non-human sapiens beside Alyc that can be explored if Alyc's story is finished or on hold?

Something in the fantasy genre would be amazing! Some thoughts:

- A royal with a cold at a fancy event who has to hide their symptoms so that they don't look weak in front of their subjects (and the loyal knight or chamberlain who takes care of them)

- A healer who's normally the one to take care of everybody falling ill (and being a terrible patient)

- A scholarly wizard who's developed a mysterious allergy to one of the ingredients they work with for their potions and is meticulously trying to find out which one (featuring: their assistant who's perhaps enjoying this a little too much?)

A big sexy yet very vulnerable man with the worst cold of his life gets taken care of (by M or F).

And my favorite: a couple with a shared cold are snowbound in their cozy home taking care of each other! One is trying so hard to power through it but eventually and spectacularly succumbs to the worst of it. Not much of a backstory, but it does it for me every time!

Im also really into handkerchief use, especially when it’s chivalrous!

A strong male athlete or military guy with either bad allergies or a miserable cold.

Lesbians. Happy lesbians who are having a good life. No one is dying, or in peril, or leaving an abusive situation, or grieving imminent or recent loss. They're just happy and gay and together and someone sneezes a lot. that's what i really crave.

This is really nice of you to offer! For causes, I'm gonna go against the grain and put a vote in for male inducing, since there's not a huge amount of that kind of content as far as I can tell. That being said, I do also love Snapdragon's fantasy scenarios. Again, thanks for the opportunity!

Sick males, usually physically strong and/or in a position of power and responsibility. I love the sick royalty angle.

My favorite sickfics are the ones with idiotic men pushing through illness. Nothing terribly angsty, just a character who hasn't even considered a sick day an option and tries to carry on normally through the day. Of course, this is accompanied by inconspicous care and eventual urging to take it easy from another character. I love a "know eachother pretty well but aren't super close" dynamic so the sick fluff developes the relationship.  Extra points for contentious rivalry in the beginning, especially between two guys. Maybe a coworker proud of upstaging the other OC, until he finds out his competition is misrably sick and the victory is undeserved? How about a neighbor annoyed about all the niose from the flat next door who decides to go over and do something about it? Extra extra points if the sneezer is an highstrung control freak, or a quite keeps-to-himself type. Also, I have a weakness for handkercheifs and pale men with thick dark hair and thin builds. Thanks for asking!

I’ve got an idea for one of those stories once I recover

Two people go on a camping trip and one of them comes down with a cold. Bonus points for situations that have them stick closely together (one is injured and the other carries them, supplies get lost/destroyed and they have to share a sleeping bag) and maybe romance happens?

Posted

Someone (male) going to a job interview for a job he has applied for. Unfortunately he has come down with a bad cold with congestion and a sore throat. He coughs, sniffles and sneezes his way through the interview. Bonus points for coughing fits, embarrassment and comments on his cold 🤩

Would LOVE another installment of Haley and Tommy- they are one of my all-time favorites!

Contagion in office, school, work, bus/car, group settings. I strongly dislike typical caretaking because it goes overboard. I cringe at the word soup. I do understand how why other people like it, though

I would honestly love to write more content myself but I think it's so frustrating we can't edit posts. I've written a few stories but I don't post anything like that anymore since you can't even go back and change grammar or spelling or anything. I try to be good about editing first but I always miss something. I just keep it all on my laptop for a rainy day

Maybe message a Mod?  I can still edit things I posted years ago so maybe it’s one of your settings? Don’t let that stop you from posting! ♥️

@starpollen It depends on your membership level too. As a full member, you are able to edit posts, but as a pending member macrotwentytwo doesn't yet have this capability.

@macrotwentytwo I agree with starpollen, don't let it stop you posting!

This sounds really nice, especially if they get to share a cold 😜
