GhostLily342 Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Yesterday I was able to witness an ob over several instances that began just perfectly! I was part of a wedding party, and we were in the process of taking pictures at multiple different locations around town. They had rented a bus to transport us from one place to the next, and near the beginning of the trip, one of the bridesmaids (we’ll call her “J,” a cute strawberry blonde in her late 20s with slender features) was put in charge of carrying the bride’s bouquet on her lap. Here’s the amazing part: almost immediately the bouquet appeared to cause J’s allergies to act up! For the first several minutes she wriggled her nose and sniffled frequently, clearly becoming more susceptible to whatever pollens the bouquet was giving off. Near our first stop, she tucked her head toward her lap and sneezed a very feminine sounding double: “Eghhh-shew! EHH-SHEWW!! Oh my goodness!” Several people blessed her, then once we reached a stopping point, she handed off the bouquet to another bridesmaid and explained why: “Ohh, I’ve gotta put this down so I can blow my nose.” She opened the black clutch on her lap, retrieved two tissues from what looked like a small bunch, and blew several times. It sounded more wet than her sniffles alone might’ve indicated, really. Although J didn’t have to hold the bouquet any more during the day, her allergies continued to give her grief. As we took pictures outside, J had to lean to the side and sneeze many times. In addition, almost every time we boarded the bus she had to retrieve a tissue from her clutch and blow her nose. One specific moment later in the afternoon was particularly poignant. We had made a few more stops and were on our way to another, and J abruptly started fumbling with her clutch again. At first it didn’t occur to me that she had to sneeze again since her pre-sneeze face really wasn’t that noticeable, but she did manage to cover her nose with a tissue just in time to catch another pair of sneezes. “EHH-SHEWW! EHH-SHEWW!! Oh man, I’m a mbess today!” Keeping the tissue held around her nose, she blew yet again. This pattern continued throughout the afternoon and into the evening. The final notable instance was near when we were lining up inside for the ceremony, and she leaned to the side for two more sneezes. As she stood up, a bead of clear snot could be seen on the tip of her nose! She quickly set down her bouquet, covered her nose with one hand, and dashed into a nearby room for some more tissues, all while muttering “Sorry, sorry!” Needless to say, this made for an enjoyable element in an otherwise exhausting day!
NoV Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 As someone who finds weddings to be an excess of tedium, this would certainly have livened things up a bit Really love it that she kept apologizing - people who sneeze despite desperately trying not to is one of my favorite observations to read!
