aggedy_ann
Freddie has a randomly sneezy day. One-shot “HuhChushh!” The force of the sneeze propelled him forward and fully woke him from his dozy state. ‘Huh,” he thought, ‘that wasn’t his usual way to wake up.” Usually sneezing awake was Jamie’s thing; his was the blaring of his alarm clock. Speaking of which, he started as it started screaming at him. “I’m up, I’m up.” He muttered, silencing it as Jamie stirred next to him. “Morning, beautif-ful…Uh-Chhushh!” Shaking his head, he took the tissue she offered him. “Bless you.” She mumbled, sleepily. “You ok?” Freddie thought about it. He didn’t have a headache; his throat wasn’t sore. He was a bit sleepy, but he had justwoken up, and he knew that would pass once he got out of bed. His ears didn’t hut; his eyes didn’t itch. No body aches. He wasn’t really even stuffed up. “Just a tickle.” He said, after a long pause. Seeming to accept his answer, Jamie yawned. “Wanna make breakfast while I shower?” “Sure. See you downstairs.” He went into the kitchen, making Jamie blueberry pancakes. He was getting ready to dish them up for her when his nose struck again. “Chushoo!” He shook his head; he couldn’t remember the last time he’d sneezed three times in the morning like this without a cold. And when he had a cold, he always sneezed two or three times, not just once. The itch had gone away, so he continued getting breakfast ready as Jamie came into the kitchen. After breakfast, she was ready to leave for work. He leaned in to kiss her goodbye but ended up pulling away at the last minute. “HuhhChushoo!” “Bless you. Done?” At his node, she stretched up and kissed him goodbye. Freddie headed upstairs to take his shower and get ready for work; he started later than Jamie. “Chushh. UhhChushh.” He sneezed halfway through his shower. ‘That’s probably just the new body wash.’ He told himself, rinsing it off. He sneezed again, spraying on his cologne, chalking that one up to the fine mist it left in the air. Typically, he was late for work; he always was. But three sneezes in the parking lot…a quick “Chushh,” in the car, and two more “HuhChushh’s” walking into the building; all rationalized as being from the sun – after all, it made Tim sneeze, so why not him; slowed him down. He was reviewing current events from the weekend and making notes on jokes to write. “HhChushh.” “Bless you.” Came from Tim beside him. “Thanks.” Freddie sniffed once and returned to the task at hand. Following three more sneezes throughout the morning, and one at lunch, Tim was starting to give him suspicious glances. “Getting a cold?” Freddie shook his head. “I feel fine. Just have a tickly nose.” He shrugged. “Better reign it in.” Tim warned. “I think Sam’s ready to pull out the bleach wipes.” He pointed out as Alex walked in. “Bleach wipes?” Alex groaned. “Who’s sick now?” “Freddie.” Sam informed him. “Am not!” Freddie protested. “No cough, no sore throat, no fever, no congestion, no headache, no earaches…I just keep sneezing, and I don’t know why. I feel fine.” Everyone gave him a thorough once over, and eventually, Sam out her bleach wipes away, much to Alex and Tim’s relief. Freddie managed to either hold back or stifle six sneezes during rehearsal, although he hated doing so. He really couldn’t understand what was going on with him. “IhhChhtt.” He stifled as the voice in the headset called it a wrap. Returning the headset, he went back to the writers room to grab his stuff. “UhhChushh…Chushoo!” He sneezed picking up his backpack. ‘Ok,’ he mused. ‘He might like sneezing, but this was getting baffling and therefore, annoying.” He blew his nose before leaving. Jamie had dinner ready when he got home. He sat down to the table with a soft “Chushh.” “Bless you.” “Thanks. I’ve been doing that all day.” He griped. “You sure you’re not sick?” “I feel fine. My nose just keeps itching.” “Can’t be allergies. You don’t have them for one, and the pollen’s on the low side.” Freddie shrugged. “”HahhChushh.” “I think you should go to bed early, though,” she informed him. He nodded, and continued eating his chicken. He watched TV while she read following supper, sneezing intermittently for the next two hours. Finally she looked at him. “Bed.” Was her firm command. He headed upstairs and got ready for bed. “Hehhchushoo,” came a sneeze while brushing his teeth. ‘Mint in the toothpaste, maybe?’ Was his weak justification. He was lying in bed when Jamie came in carrying a box of tissues. “If you’re getting a cold, you’re going to want these.” “It’s not a cold.” She lay down next to him as he shook the bed with a strong “huhChushoo!” “Bless you. Try to sleep.” She switched on a movie and curled up next to him. It took another hour and another three, “HuhChussh’s,” each growing sleepier than the last, before his breathing evened out and he was asleep. Freddie woke the next morning to the blaring of his alarm. “Morning, beautiful,” he said to Jamie, stirring next to him. “How do you feel?” “Fine.” He took a deep sniff. “See, no sneezes. Must have just been a randomly sneezy day yesterday.” He shrugged. Link to comment
