First Sneeze Friday

Author’s note: Felt inspired by some mask-wearing sneeze videos, decided to whip up this one-shot! Title's a play on "First Cup Friday".

Megan was meeting her friend for coffee at Caffeine Me Captain, a little sidewalk cafe. The brisk winter air caressed her face as she walked there, reddening her cheeks and chapping her lips. Her naked lips.

Wait. Oh no! She'd forgotten her mask. She wouldn't be allowed into the cafe!

Megan's friend, Ana, appeared around the corner. The friends bumped elbows in a pandemic hello and exchanged pleasantries. "Megan! Where's your mask?" Ana exclaimed.

"I forgot it." Megan admitted sheepishly.

"Well, lucky for you, I've brought you one as a gift!" Ana fished a fuzzy white face mask out of her purse and tossed it to Megan. "I made it myself! Picked up weaving as a quarantine hobby."

Megan gratefully pulled the mask over her nose and mouth. The warm, scratchy fabric was a little rough on her skin, but she didn't want to complain - she was the one who'd arrived unprepared!

The two girls headed through the cafe doors. As they approached the counter, Megan felt the slightest twinge around her nose. She wondered if she'd accidentally trapped a hair in her mask? Ah well, too late now, she had to keep it on in the shop.

Ana ordered first; as her friend laid out the specifics for her latte, Megan took the opportunity to rub her nose gently through the mask, hoping to dislodge whatever was irritating it. Swiping a finger over the fabric didn't seem to help; if anything, the twinge bloomed into a full tickle, her nostrils widening. She imagined that under the mask her nose was turning red.

Unfortunately Megan would have to deal with the discomfort, for it was her turn to order. She stepped up to the counter and took a deep breath to fuel her next sentence. "Hi! I'd like a...a...AH...."

With that breath her voice began to hitch, as her nose suddenly alit with a terrible itch. She felt like she'd sniffed up a flowerful of pollen - something was teasing her terribly, and her chest heaved as her lungs involuntarily pulled in air to fuel the sneeze her body demanded. But she couldn't sneeze into her mask! That'd be gross. She had to hold it.

She sniffled, desperate for any relief from this tickle. "A....a vanilla-aha-EH-EH....a vanilla latte with skim mi-hi-HEH-EH...ilk!" Megan used the back of her hand to rub furiously through the mask at her swollen, dripping nostrils. Please nose, she thought. Hold it for just a minute!

As she and Ana waited for their orders, her breath continued to hitch softly with mounting sneeziness. Ana noticed Megan's discomfort. "You ok, Megan?"

"Oh ye-HE-yeah, I'b...I'b todally fide...just really...he-YE-AH-AH...deed to...to...EH...sdeeze!"

"Ok! I'll hold your drink until we get outside." Ana grabbed both drinks from the barista, and they quickly headed out, Megan pressing a finger desperately through her mask to the bridge of her nose. As the doors swung closed behind them, Megan ripped her mask off and peered up at the sun, her breasts and sides heaving with ragged breaths to fuel the vicious sneezing fit she'd been denying herself.

"Ha-HA...gotta-AH-AH-AH...SDEEZE!! AH-YE-CHEWWWWW!" Megan bent over double, arms flinging out to the side as she was consumed by the physicality of her full-body sneezes. "AH-CHEW! AY-YE-ISCHEW! Oh my God...he...he-yeah....YAAAAAH-CHOOO!"

As the sneezing fit eventually died down, Megan sniffled, rubbing at her nose with her knuckles. Ana came over, a white handkerchief appearing from her purse. Ana dabbed at her friend's nose, helping ease the last vestiges of tickles from the twitching organ.

"Ohhh, blesss be. Danks Ana," Megan straightened, pressing her nose gratefully into the handkerchief in her friend's hand. "You're aldways do prepared!"

"No problem." The girls sat down at one of the cafe's fancy bistro outdoor tables, sipping their coffees.

"I have no idea what made me sneeze like that!" Megan mused, twirling her mask around her finger absently. "I wonder if the barista was wearing perfume?"

The girls settled in, chatting about their days, the challenges of quarantine life, and their pets' cute antics. As they chatted, a woman at a table on the other side of the sidewalk glared at them and called over, "Masks on, please! There's a pandemic happening!"

Megan and Ana both gave her a look, but dutifully pulled their masks on now that they'd finished their coffees. Ana launched into a story of how she'd been caught in a Zoom call without realizing her camera was on - and she'd only been wearing her underwear! How embarrassing!

As Megan smiled under her mask and listened, the tickle in her nasal passages roared back to life, setting the whole center of her face ablaze with tingles. She gasped, and as Ana's story rolled on ("And then, oh my god, the UX designer asked where I get my lingerie, I was so embarrassed that I-"), Megan's eyes squinted closed, and she reared back in her seat, fingers gripping the edge of the table as her body heaved, taking in as much air as it could muster for a monstrous expulsion that was too urgent to wait for the end of Ana's sentence.

"AH-PSH-OWWW! Oh by goodness, bless be!" Megan shook her head, sniffling desperately. "Do wait, dere's bore! EH-YEEEAAH-CHEW! EH-HE-EYAH-CHEW!".

As her friend looked on concerned, Megan's back arched, her chair legs rocked, and the busty girl exploded with a tremendous scream of a sneeze so powerful that it sent her mask flying off her face entirely, landing on the table before her. "AAAAEEEEEAH-YAAAAAAAACHEEWWWWWW!!"

Panting and spent from her exertions, Megan rubbed her nose desperately. Ana again offered her the handkerchief, soothing her friend's aching nose. "Bless be," she muttered in relief as she snorted into the handkerchief.

Ana picked up the fuzzy white mask where it had landed. "You don't happen to be allergic to wool, Megan?”

"Oh yes, terribly!"

"Ah. Well, that might explain some things."

Poor Megan!  Though it was rather heart-racing to read her trying to keep it together until she can get to a safe place to sneeze.  Great job!

There's something about a constant tickle that grows into a colossal sneezing fit that's really entertaining to watch. Such a good story! Bless you, Megan!
