cameo - celeb requests.

What do you think about asking a celeb to act out a scenario for you like having a cold or allergies on one of those request created companies?  For those not familiar you pay a fee and then request a message from the cleb mostly its directed to someone else.

Im assuming the general consensus is that it is unethical but what happens if you mentioned the kink in an innocuous way  like saying they have a " thing for sneezing" or they are into Hurt comfort? Is there even a way to mention it without it seeming super icky?

Thoughts?

I myself was looking at James Marsters ( spike from Buffy the vampire slayer) and I was just thinking it would be so delicious to have him act out Spike sick with a cold as I know he does alot of in character stuff .

completely unethical unless you are being extremely blunt and upfront about the fact that it's for someone's sexual gratification

what happens if you DONT plan to jerk off to it and just want it. Thats what I mean about it being icky. there are levels of ick. if you wanted it for that reason thats different than  just wanting it because its hot but your NOT going to do anything sexual with it  it. no? Yes?

but of course not hiding that you have an intrest in sneezing. You could say you think sneezing is hot. would that be honest? ( if you werent going to do anything with the content but swoon in an innocent PG way)

Ok but finding it hot isnt doing something non PG to it. why are you swearing?  Also Im thinking by your reaction as long as in this hypothetical scenario I told them  sneezing was hot thats enough for it not to be clandestine. Please also note the word hypothetical.

it doesn't MATTER if you are jerking off to it or not, it's still something that's SEXUAL to you. why did you make this thread? it seems like you've already made up your mind, were you just looking for people to rush in and tell you that this was actually totally okay (even though you clearly know it isn't)? jesus god, come on

your response is so telling, it's so obvious that you know this is wrong. if you genuinely thought this was enough you would have no problem telling them it's an actual fetish for you. they don't know who you are, you will never speak to them again, the ONLY reason you wouldn't tell them that it's a fetish is so that you could evade the icky feelings you have -- or at least should have -- about sneakily using someone for sexual gratification without them fully understanding the scope of it.

Funny story once upon a time I went to a public screening of buffy where the writer of the episode was a special guest I worked up enough nerve to tell them I had a sneezing fetish and my fav character was spike and if they ever wrote his character sneezing that would be so great.

Cameo covers it in their terms of service in their list of prohibited content:

communicate anything that is, or that incites, promotes, facilitates, or encourages action that is, explicitly or implicitly: offensive, dangerous, gratuitously violent, defamatory, illegal (including illegal gambling, games of chance, sweepstakes, or contests), a violation of law or the rights of any third party, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, racist, derogatory, harmful to any reputation, pornographic, indecent, profane, obscene, or otherwise objectionable (including nudity);

But here’s the thing: sneezing by itself is not pornography. How often do you think someone asks their favorite actor/actress to say hello to them and then uses the clip for personal gratification? I’m willing to bet it’s a non-zero number and the actors/actresses know this going in. For crying out loud, these people make R rated movies that get used for these purposes. Cameo is just another acting gig for them. Do you think the guy who sneezed in Brigerton cares one bit about the 0.00000000001% of people who found his performance sexier than the main characters who are acting out actual sex on camera?

I’m not condoning or condemning any course of action here. But let’s knock off the judgements. There’s no reason to hold anyone here to a higher standard than the general public. We’re not special.

Seriously?  That seemed like an entirely appropriate thing to do?  "Hey, if you could write an episode I could jack it to, that'd just be swell".  Seriously?

Guys, don't do this shit.   Fun fact: whether you think it is or not, writing is a JOB.  Acting is a JOB.  (Seriously, do you actors they do convention appearances because it's the most fun thing ever?  It's for $$££€€.  Its. A. JOB.)  Asking them to perform for your sexual gratification is just as inappropriate as going into your bank and asking that cute teller you have a crush on to sneeze for you.  It is as inappropriate as approaching someone on the street and mentioning your fetish to them.  It is not okay to cross that line.  You do not know them and they do not know you.  You might have seen their character on TV and read their interviews, they might feel very familiar to you, but you do not know them.   Sure, jack it to your fantasies in private all you want.  Rewind that R rated movie that they consented to be in 27 times if you want.  But bringing them personally into it is wrong as hell and most people know that.

It's like how millions of people write sexy fanfiction and that's fine.  But then you get those freaks that go on Twitter and tag actors in fan art of their characters having sex and that's fucked up.

And the "oh, but it's totally innocent" is the stupidest cop out defense in the world.  I promise you, no matter how much you go "Oh, golly gee willickers, I'm not asking you to take your clothes off, I just wanna hear a little sneeze, everybody sneezes after all!", any actor who wasn't born yesterday absolutely KNOWS you are being a creep.  They absolutely fucking KNOW.  'Cause it's not just sneezing, every idiot with a fetish and zero awareness of boundaries and treating other humans like human goddamned beings does it.  "Your toes are so cute!  Can you wiggle them for me?"  "Have you ever been tickled?  Tell me about how it felt!"  "Hahaha, what if you ate so much you did a big burp and couldn't hold it back hahaha"  You're not slick and it's obvious.

And I'm not holding people here to a higher standard to the general public.  This is exactly the standard I expect everyone to hold themselves to because DON'T CROSS THAT LINE and TREAT OTHER HUMAN BEINGS LIKE GODDAMNED HUMAN BEINGS should just be basic standards of conduct for everyone and so blatantly obvious it doesn't need to be questioned. JFC.  Seriously.

idk about the US, but here legal guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service says that "an image is pornographic if it can be reasonably assumed that it was produced solely or principally for the purpose of sexual arousal."

So by requesting content to gratify your sneezing kink you would be violating the terms of service. How likely you are to get called out on that is debatable, but if it is created at your request for the purposes of bringing you that kind of pleasure, it crosses the line. Whether you're okay with knowingly doing that is up to your own conscience.

No, but I suspect that if one of them sought him out and told him about it, that would likely make him uncomfortable and also make him feel differently about performing in similar scenes in the future.

As a personal note, I may be being overly idealistic here, but "I'm sure other people do this" is not sufficient justification for me to do something I know to be wrong. That line of thought that goes "If other people are getting away with this, it's not right to hold a specific person to account" can do a great deal of harm.

and to add onto that, you know what else is a job? sex work! there are tons and tons of people out there trying to make their living literally by making content that caters to peoples' fetishes, consentually and enthusiastically. seek out and hire those people instead of being creepy to people for whom "arousing people" is not an inherent part of their job description.

I wouldn't ask anyone acting or otherwise involved in shows, movies etc. to do anything for me, let alone something fetish related. I'd be too embarrassed and I really don't think it's appropriate,  even if it's not something fetish related. Working in acting and such isn't easy as it is. I think we should just let people do their work.

I posed a question. I didn’t do anything wrong. This forum is supposed to be where you can go and ask a question like this. Again I didn’t do anything wrong unless looking for guidance is considered bad. Also I don’t jack off to non consensual sneezing. Like friends or strangers . Maybe you guys do but unless the content is made with full intention on what it’s going to be used for I’m not using it for that purpose . ( ie content made on YouTube for that that purpose with people in the know)

seeing colds or flu in tv doesn’t turn me on in that way. I guess it’s different for some people. I just think it’s cute or hot but it doesn’t make me want to masturbate cause it’s not real. I know this fetish is different for everyone so maybe consider that.
bottom line I didn’t do anything besides ask a question.

Perhaps, but it's not a place where you can expect everyone to just go "Oh yeah, that's totally cool! You should definitely do something creepy as fuck!"

There are nicer ways to put things. As it’s not the snake pit. Just saying.

not sure why we need to keep using swear words.

i don’t know how “civil” you need this to be but it’s still sexual gratification even if you “don’t plan to jerk off to it”. you’re still trying to solicit fetish material from an unconsenting actor no matter how “SFW” you try to play it off as.

being into “nonsexual” sneezes still has an inherent sexual ulterior motive to it. fetishes are fetishes, no matter how “nonsexual” it may be to you.

I get it . Can we please move on. You have all made your point. At this point you are just beating a dead horse. Your message has come across loud and clear.
 Its wrong. I understand.
also I was not “ trying” to do anything so please don’t make it seem like I was actively doing that because I merely asked a question here. On this forum .
but regardless of  wether or not I was “considering” doing this I am not doing it.
