Short Allergy fluff

Since I'm dying a slow death from allergies I needed some allergy caretaking fluff. It's pretty short since my head is fuzzy, but I plan to continue it in the adult section. 

 

Lex closed the door, excited to be home after a long day at work.

“Hun?” he thought he could hear noise coming from the kitchen, but was not expecting what he saw as his girlfriend walked through the opening towards him. Clutching tissues to her nose she stumbled forward as she sneezed over and over again.

“Oh babe,” Lex said sympathetically as he set his stuff down and wrapped a steadying arm around her. Jennifer continued to keep the mass of wet tissues against her nose, trying not to make too much of a mess against her boyfriends shirt. The tickle in her nose was relentless though and the more she tried to stifle the sneezes the more she continued to sneeze.

“Let me,” she felt a cool soft cloth dab at her eyes and realized Lex must have pulled out his handkerchief. Pushing her hands down, Lex cradled his girlfriend against him while cocooning her nose in the white fabric.

“’TSHHH, h’TSHH, h’NGXT”

“Just let them out, it’ll feel so much better.” His voice was quiet and comforting.

“ah’TSHEW hih heh h’SHIEW ah’PTSHUUU!”

“Bless you Sweetie.”

Jennifer let her body relax against her boyfriend as she continued to rub her nose against his fabric covered hand. He pinched and massaged her nose before pulling the cloth away, folding it trying to contain the mess that had been expelled from her cute little nose.  

“Blow.” Lex held a dry area up to Jennifer’s nose and she was extremely grateful that her boyfriend didn’t get grossed out by this, in fact he liked it, but it still felt a little embarrassing at times. However, she complied and gave a wet gurgly blow into the handkerchief.

Lex could feel her breath hitch after she blew and continued to hold the cloth in place.

“hih’ heh’”

“I’ve got you.”

“aH’SHIEW!”

“Bless you,” Lex dabbed at his girlfriends nose, “better?”

Jennifer nodded and let Lex guide her to the couch where they sat down together. She threw the wet wad of tissues, she still had in her hands, onto a small pile Lex hadn’t previously noticed on the coffee table.

“Oh Sweetie, I didn’t think it was that bad this morning.”

Jennifer wiped tears from below her bloodshot eyes, trying not to scratch.

“Id wasn’t. Bud I opened the bedroom window to air id oud and then the neighbor starded mbowing and the window got hih’ sduck.” Lex wasn’t fast enough with the hanky, already drenched anyways, so she turned to the side covering her nose with both hands, “ah’TSHEW ‘TSHH k’TSHHHOOO!”

Lex quickly got up and grabbed a tissue box from the shelf, handing her some as Jennifer tried to keep her hands close to her irritated nose, blocking his view of the mucous dripping to her upper lip.

“Bless you. I’ll go get that window shut and bring you some Benadryl.”

“Thag you.” Jennifer took the time while he was away to blow her nose until she couldn’t get anything out, knowing it would fill up in a matter of seconds anyways. By the time he got back, the pile of used tissues had gotten substantially larger.

“I’m so sorry hun,” Lex sat and gave her a cup of water and the little pink pills. She took them gratefully and noticed he had changed out of his work clothes into a loose t-shirt and sweatpants. After she finished the water she laid down with her head in Lex’s lap and he ran fingers through her soft light brown hair.  

“I feel awful,” Jennifer whined, “my eyes itch, my ears itch, my nose hih’ ih’ ihTSHIEW itches.”

“Bless you. Hopefully the meds will kick in soon.” Lex grabbed a tissue and gently wiped her reddened drippy nostrils.

I especially liked this bit, as sneezing so unexpectedly you cannot even begin to get a hankie ready is always hot
