Justasneezygirl
I had an interestingly sneezy day considering I took my allergy medication! ☺️ I was driving home and making a phone call for work with our call center in GA - I’m in NY. I was at an outdoor event under a pavilion and the weather got windy and it started down pouring rain. I found a good break in the rain to leave, but the rain/wind seemed to stir up something that I am allergic to. I wasn’t thinking much about it as my allergies tend to be mild and I can never figure out what the triggers are outside. All of a sudden about 10 minutes into the trip, I noticed that my nose really started itching. I rubbed it and felt sneezy a few times and got my callback for work. It was a really friendly female rep and the computer system was running very slow today. I was waiting on hold where she could still hear me but was working on pulling information up and it was silent. I felt myself start to have trouble breathing in and out without hitching and squinting my eyes and my nose was incredibly itchy - nothing I could do while being on the phone was enough to delay my sneeze. I tend to enjoy letting my sneezes out at home. Lately they have been powerful singles separated by 10 seconds - a few minutes (other times of the year I occasionally get some doubles or triples if I am lucky). I knew the rep could hear me and I am really shy when I have to sneeze at work or in stores (like a lot of us are!). I decided to hold back a little but still let it out as it felt very powerful and I sneezed into my right elbow while driving with my left hand, and it felt like a great release into my shirt sleeve, spraying onto my forearm, with a “ehh, ehh-tschooo” sound. The rep came back to the phone and said “Bless you!” And I said “Thank you!”. Then she apologized for the system taking so long and I told her no worries. My nose kept itching - worse than before I had sneezed - and it was distracting as I tried to hold back the feeling and focus on our call. I answered questions and would hold while she worked in between, and sometimes we would chat while things loaded. we were finishing up chatting and she was going to put me on hold and I said “O-okay”, stammering a little because of the hitching from the sneeze sensation and I couldn’t hold my next sneeze in any longer, and I sneezed again into my crooked elbow, slightly more forceful than the first, “HEtschooo”, still trying my best not to be too loud, and I said “excuse me” and it was silent as I was on hold - I was slightly relieved she couldn’t hear me, but that relief quickly subsided when I felt the sneeze sensation and itching intensify. I was overpowered a little quicker than I anticipated and sneezed into my forearm, getting hit in the face with some spray, “EH-HITchooo” trying to keep it down, and the rep immediately came back on the line saying “my goodness, Bless you!” And I said “Excuse me, Thank you! It started raining here and it triggered my allergies.” And she said “no worries at all” and went right back to business. I felt itchy the rest of the call but those were all the sneezes there. 30 minutes later I was on another call with my boss and she has allergies as well, so I often get to hear her sneezes at work. It has been awhile since I have had such an itchy allergy day and the sensation stayed with me and hadn’t left. I got on the phone with her and a few minutes in the itching intensified and I knew sneezes were coming. I was trying to say “Yes I agree” and was going to continue with a talking point. I said “Ye-es, I eh, EH-tschooo” and she interrupted me with a “Bless you!” And I said “thank you” and kept talking, but was really distracted by the itching. I rubbed my nose with the back of my hand and it calmed down. 2 - 3 mins later in the same call I was listening to my boss talk and a sudden sneeze came upon me, “AHhhh- Chooo”, followed by hitching and a smaller “eh-eh-eh-eh-tchooo” as I’m a little more comfortable with her and I honestly couldn’t hold it back anymore. She immediately stopped talking during the first sneeze and new there was another so she waiter and then said “Bless you, lady! Bad allergy day?” And I said “OMG when it started raining a little while ago, something changed and I haven’t been able to stop sneezing and my nose is so itchy, it’s crazy!” And she said she felt it change too and agreed about the bad allergy day and we moved back to work topics. That was the last of my sneezes so far today, but my nose is still itching - hoping I will get a nice surprise with some more, but wanted to share!😊 Link to comment
Bless you, Hi
So great! The polite but sympathetic businessy demeanor really adds a layer to the obs. Your rep sounds like the ideal responder to a sneezer very nice. Link to comment

It was nice to have someone like that rep on the line. My nose is still itching this morning and it is still raining (really wondering what the change in weather did) - we will see what today brings! You have a great way of writing this obs, especially this line I also love it when people sneeze while they are trying to talk - good job your boss was so sympathetic. Link to comment
