Nspringthorpe321
I love having a cold. Being all sneezy, stuffed up, blowing my nose, wrapping up warm in my pajamas, fluffy dressing gown, fluffy socks, slippers and a blanket. Or staying cuddled up in bed. Having lots of hot chocolate. Also what's your dream way of catching a cold? and what do you do when you have a cold? (what's your taking care of a cold routine) Link to comment
bingochamp7
I also like catching colds for the same reasons you mentioned. My ideal scenario is catching a cold anytime during fall, winter, or early spring (preferably during a holiday) and being alone to let out all the sneezes, cough freely, and blow my nose all while catching up on movies and TV shows I had little time for when I wasn’t sick. When I catch a cold, nothing really changes except that I drink more herbal tea, use cough drops if I’m not staying at home, and I use a rag to blow my nose into if I’m at home. If I have to be out, I would use travel pack tissues and blow my nose in a place where no one would be able to see or hear me. I don’t take any meds because the symptoms are the best part, so I let the cold run its course which is 7 - 10 days. Link to comment
EveP
I almost never catch colds, max once every two or three years, so when I do I make the most out of it. I sort of build a nest with blankets and pillows in the corner of the couch, drink warm lemon water with honey and watch every feelgood movie I can find. Link to comment

Waking up on Christmas day absolutely full of cold would be great as well. I as well don't take any meds as I want to enjoy the cold. Link to comment

I unfortunately don't catch colds very often either ☹️. But yes definitely make the most out of it. I wrap up warm almost immediately, have a foot-bath, lots of hot chocolate. I do wish that colds could be caught from being cold or being in the cold for too long. If that was the case I'd definitely be going out in the snow and have a little swim in a frozen lake (both I'd do naked) so I can catch a nice long lasting winter cold. Link to comment
Trynasneeze
I like catching colds most of the time - sort of forces me to slow down a bit, however if I something that I'm looking forward to coming up it can be annoying. I don't really change a lot. I typically suck raw garlic to try and alleviate the sore throat, I probably dress a bit warmer and try to get more sleep, but I normally keep going about my daily life otherwise Link to comment

I have throat sweets if it gets a bit too irritating Link to comment

BlondeSneezer
I also like catching colds for the reason that I'm forced to slow down. And they're so rare for me anyway that the elusiveness makes them somehow even more alluring. Although I'll totally admit I hard-core act like I'm miserable when I'm sick as a way of overcompensating... Unless I have to go somewhere (this was pre-pandemic of course where the demand by the majority of society was you were still "on" even if you're sick) or I'm having trouble sleeping, I don't usually take anything. I always get THE WORST sore throats when I'm getting a cold. I mean like, clenching my jaw and barely able to speak pain. Link to comment

Then just suck on them until the taste burns too much Link to comment

Tyler24
I love catching colds for the symptoms and being able to stay in my pajamas and robe for days plus warm blankets. For me the ideal time to get sick is the winter around the holidays. It has never happened though; I keep hoping. Link to comment

Yes a really bad cold sounds like a very good Christmas present (for me anyway) I'd love to spend the day absolutely full of cold and wrapped up warm. Link to comment

prismaticpollen
I have mixed feelings about being sick. I hate being congested, but I do like sneezing when I’m alone. If I could catch the kind of cold in some fics where excessive sneezing was the only significant symptom, I’d like that. Link to comment
dominchoo
I love being sneezy during my colds but the rest of it can go die in a hole. The coughing, sore throat, headache, and insane congestion is so awful I hate it. Link to comment
ItchyNostrils
My colds are never the sneezy kind… so it’s never any fun 😅 Link to comment
Millie_Mack
I rarely catch a cold, maybe once every two years. I wouldn’t like to catch one when I’m busy, have a lot of work to do or go out in public. But I would love to catch one in winter break when I’m able to stay home and enjoy it. By enjoy it I mean being able to sneeze and cough uncovered and don’t take meds so the symptoms are strong and lasting. In winter so I can use fluffy and warm clothes. I would like to know how I catch it, for example catching it from a friend or significant other. It would be nicer that a surprise cold, because I would expect it. A surprise one in a good timing would be awesome. The last time I was sick with a cold was a few years ago, a mild one, just stuffy runny nose and a sore throat with some dry cough. I had a lot to do, so I took cough drops, a cough syrup and nasal spray every 4 hours so my symptoms were not obvios or annoying. I wished I could stayed home and enjoyed it. Link to comment

Mochi
Uh, I think I stayed outside too long without a coat ^^, I'm really enjoying it (apart from the sore throat and raspy voice). I have no idea how to give it to you, I have no idea where you live. Sorry, I can't give it to you without knowing that ;'( Link to comment
