Stuck

-👋 Hello! I am Reflect, and I am knew to this community, so please bare with me. Please note that I DO NOT own Death Note and this was merely made for entertainment purposes. (Petition to bring back the Death Note sneeze fics! lmao). Anyways, this takes place when they were handcuffed, meaning Light had absolutely no memory of being Kira.

Ailment: Allergies.

Sneezer: Light Yagami.

The occasional sniffling sounds were filling up the whole quiet room in where L and his suspect slept. This was only making the raven-haired detective lose concentration in the files that Watari had provided for him. L turned to narrow his eyes into splits  at the young, probable Kira. 

While L was busy displaying his annoyance towards Light, Light was fighting the urge to sneeze. The tickly sensation in his nose almost felt like someone was teasing him with a feather; that's probably the best representation he could come up with, and his poor abused nose was as red as a splotch of blood.

"Light" L finally spoke up after awhile of utter silence that was followed up with sniffling and hitching. 

"Ng.. Yes, Ryuzaki? I'm sorry, I think I'm coming down with something." he sniffed, once again. 

"I don't believe you are, you were fine just a minute ago. It's painstakingly obvious that you're allergic to something." L hummed. 

Light nodded as some kind of acknowledgement, however, he didn't exactly listen to him given the state he was in at the moment. He suddenly began fanning his nose in hopes of triggering the stuck sneezes. Oh boy was this irritating. 

L pursed his lips and placed the files on top of a nightstand that was right beside the bed. 

"Light?" 

"Hnn?" 

"I can see you're struggling there. Do you need any help?" he asked tentatively. 

"Hh-help?" 

"Yes. You look uncomfortable, do you know what caused your abrupt allergies?" 

Light shook his head, but right when he was about to answer, his breath began involuntarily hitching even more than before and his nose flared at every breath, his natural long eyelashes batted as he tried to release the sneeze out of his system. 

L only gnawed at his thumb, watching the poor young man struggle against his own will. He, too, was waiting for the sneeze to finally burst from his lungs. From the looks of it, he was so close." 

1...2...3

Light gasped, he turned to the side. At this point, he was already short of breath 

6..7..8..9

"Haahstch! Ngtch! Heh.."  

There we go.

At last, the sneezes erupted from the frail man. L cracked a smile. If you looked closely, there were tears starting to form near the corner of Light's eyes. L leaned in to to observe Light simultaneously while still biting at his thumb. Light knits a brow, seemingly discomforted by how close he was, but then aims at the floor while still seated on the bed. 

"Haah..Atscho! Ng..The win-Hatcsho! Window..."

L cocked his head, "What do you mean, Light?" his dark doe-eyes stared intently at Light's.

Light sniffed and cleared his throat, "The window's open."

"Oh?" L glances at the window for a bit, and then focuses on Light again. "You're right, it's open" he shrugs. 

Light grits his teeth, "The pollen count is pretty high today, Ryuzaki." he pauses, "I'm allergic to pollen"

"Yes. Noted" 

Light inhales, annoyed that the detective wasn't picking up on his cue. 

"Can you please close the window? I don't want to risk getting a nasal congestion" 

"Sorry, I'll get to it now"
