Forum Update Format

While I can say that I do like the new look of the forum and the update in general, the one thing I wish we’d kept was the “mark this as read” feature.  Or whatever language it had.  I can’t remember exactly.  But it was available in every category, every topic.  I used that feature to help me track the stories I had already read and keep up to date with updates and posts in those stories. This update doesn’t allow that, and I have discovered that I have to click on each individual post and - if there are multiple pages - also must scroll to the very last post before it will show as “read.”  This is very time consuming and frustrating.  As I said before, I really like the new look.  But I really hope the next update can return this former feature.
 

For further clarification, I mostly access the forum via my cell phone. My laptop still shows the “mark entire forum as read” - or whatever the language, sorry I’m spacing out on that - but I miss the choice to just mark the Original Stories as read, or the Drabbles as read and not the entire forum. I hope we can have that specific feature back someday.  ❤️

Agreed on specific sections "mark as read."

Also, the whole update makes everything seem cleaner and easier to read.

I prefer the previous version myself particularly the blue coloring which I think was prettier but whatever!

I'm fine with this new format (though why does everything have to look like Facebook??  ), the only thing that annoys me is that you can't insert gifs stored at imgur anymore.  Hopefully there's something that can be done to make it work again, because... gifs. 

Other than that, I haven't really come across anything that bugs me, and I usually HATE new formats.

It looks a lot sleeker on mobile now which is cool.  I'm the sort of person who doesn't mind when a look changes as long as ease of use isn't affected.  In fact I kinda like new looks.  Like a fresh coat of paint to brighten up a familiar room!

 But man I miss logging in as invisible.  If that option has moved somewhere, I haven't found it yet.

Account settings, Security and Privacy, type in your password, and then you can change the login to invisible.

The one silly thing that is bothering me is that the ranks have now moved onto the profile pictures instead of above it.

mark as read is functioning perfectly for me as it always has, oddly.

Mark as read for the sub forum on iPhone is now at the bottom of the page instead of the top.

For me, the rank appears as a broken link, which obscures other information about each poster. Is this still happening for anyone else?

Otherwise, forum upgrade looks good and runs well - cheers to the mods for facilitating this

If you mean on the profile then yeah, it happens to me too.

Hi all, the rank issue should be fixed now. The new pictures may still change, but this seems to solve the immediate problem at least.  

Thank you very much Chanel for solving the Invisible log-in conundrum.  

At the moment we're not sure whether it's possible to change the "mark as read" function for mobile users, but it's on the list.

Just noticed that when you hover over a members name, one of the pieces of information given is 'Badges' which for everyone seems to be '0'. Just wondered what this feature is?
