Bad cold

This is the worst cold I've had in a long time. I started getting sick on Thursday and felt really bad for a few days (fever, sore throat, headache, chills). Saturday my son and I tested for Covid and were negative. Sunday, I felt like I was getting better, and Monday I felt really good. Then Tuesday came. I woke up feeling awful. My throat was killing me and my nose would not stop running. Today has been more of the same, but my nose has been so tickly and sneezy. I've been using a hanky at night, and mostly tissues during the day. It feels like ants are crawling around the inside of my nose. Most of the time I can feel the sneezes coming and bury my nose, filling tissues, hanky, or occasionally my hand, with thick sticky mucous, as 1-3 sneezes burst forth bending me at the waist. Within a few minutes my nose fills back up again and I can feel the tickle start at the bridge of my nose working its way down. And once again I'm quickly reaching for something to cover my nose with and contain the mess. If I don't blow my nose every few minutes I either start coughing or the mucous starts to drip down towards my lip. My sinuses, and really everything else as well, aches. I'm visiting my parents and it's super awkward being sick around them, but at least they've been able to help look after my son so I can take care of myself.

Thanks for the kind replies. Today I woke up with a head full of cement.  Less than a minute into waking I sneezed my first double for the day. The sneezes were definitely not as messy as they were the day before when my nose was a non-stop faucet, but every time I sneeze it seems to dislodge more of the mucous, making me need to blow my nose. My voice is shot and much deeper while sounding super congested. I'm coughing much more today, especially if I breathe deep or start laughing. This cold is seriously kicking my butt and I'm left lying in bed tonight, propped up with a bunch of pillows, next to some eucalyptus oil, sneezing and blowing and coughing into my large light blue handkerchief, and my left nostril back to drip drip dripping.

Hope you get better soon. The colds floating around at the moment are no fun at all

I'm back home so back to having allergies to contend with as well. Unfortunately the semi-enjoyable symptoms seem to be gone and I'm mainly left with this cough trying to clear the remainder of gunk from my throat and sinuses.

@ickydog2006 hope you're starting to feel better soon, and that you have a good supply of hankies too. It sounds like you need them.
