NotWho
So, a close friend of mine, we’ll call him B, has had the worst few days of practice (marching band) and I feel bad for somewhat enjoying it. For those of you who like descriptions, B is tall, about 6’3, has longer blonde hair that curls at the ends, beautiful blue-brown hazel eyes. anyway, B has allergies, but they don’t seem to bug him too much on a regular basis…with the exception of the past two days, especially yesterday. At Friday’s practice, I heard a slight hitch before hearing a wet “HEEEHHSHU” which was followed by three more stronger, wetter sneezes that sounded kind of painful. Those were the last sneezes during the practice, but he was getting a lot of false starts and was sniffling the rest of practice. Last night, we’d just started our four hour practice when I hear a curse behind me. I turn around to see what the issue was, just in time to watch B get the sweetest pre-sneeze expression on his face. He sneezes four wet sneezes, sniffling for a bit after. As we’re working on the drill, I hear him curse again before sneezing six of the strongest sneezes have ever heard. He was almost doubled over because of the strength of the sneeze. He ends up having three more of these fits over the course of the practice. At the end, we had gathered on the fifty yard line for announcements and an overall performance report. We take a knee and B sits by me, resting his head on my shoulder, mumbling something. I ask him to repeat what he said and he says “I said I—HNKTCH—need to sneeze.” I just sat there not knowing what to say after he sneezed into my shoulder. Link to comment

NotWho
Yesterday, we had another practice and I had the most tender moment with B. So our visual tech was trying to work out prop movements without the rest of us getting crushed (we have 7 big cubes made up of 3 smaller triangles, each one is at least 200lbs and is roughly 8 feet tall at its highest point), so we were just chilling on the front sidelines. Anywho, B is hanging out with me, which he’s been seeming to make an effort to do as of late (time to swoon??), and we’re exchanging slight banter in hushed tones when I hear him hitch. He pinches his nose in the collar of his shirt to stifle a strong “HHNKTCH” and I bless him, sneaking a glance at him. I know he’s got at least one more in him and he has his adorable pre-sneeze face. He pinches his nose to stifle one more, but he doesn’t seem to be satisfied. I’m notorious for mothering my section members, so I ask him if he’s okay and he gives me an “I’m good” as he’s fighting a sneeze. He seems to be itchier after stifling his sneezes, so I tell him to let it out and he shakes his head, sneezing a strong “HHEPTCHU!” into his shirt. He was super sniffly afterwards and was pretty itchy that night, but he refused to take a Benadryl I offered him, even though he said yes when I asked if he wanted me to carry around Benadryl for him when his allergies bug him. His stubbornness and his allergies make me want to melt into a puddle. Link to comment

NotWho
This is from practice a couple days ago. After practice, B had handed his bari sax to me so he could help move props, so I waited for him at the gate so I could give it back to him. As we’re walking back to the band room, I see his nose twitch and he freezes before he lets out a harsh “HHEESSHU!” I bless him as we continue walking, but we only make it a few steps before he doubles over with a much stronger sneeze. Before I bless him, he massages the bridge of his nose with a slight groan before he apologizes shyly, which was a first for him. Twenty minutes later finds us in the parking lot with a couple of our other friends and I watch as B pulls the collar of his shirt over his nose and sneezes. He ends up having a sneezing fit that lasts a couple minutes, with a ten second pause separating his sneezes. We bless him as he itches his nose which is pink and twitching. A side note: he does this thing where he’ll be standing really close behind me, or he’ll be so close next to me that our elbows/arms touch if either of us readjusts our position. So he’s standing next to me and I look at him and ask if he’s okay and he has his adorable presneeze face before he brings his hand to his nose before he lets out a strong “HNKTCH’HU!” I bless him as he massages the bridge of his nose with a soft groan again. He looked so miserable and itchy and I really wanted to give him some TLC while he was in his sniffly sneezy state. Link to comment
