AngelRain Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 First of all I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I wasn't sure where it should go. Anyway, I need some writing inspiration if anyone is willing to help. I met a new friend who shares the fetish and I really really want to write a short story for her. I have a vague idea and characters but I'm not sure what to do with them, like how the story should go. Honestly the original idea was based on a dream I had about this friend and myself, but I don't think the dream makes for a good enough story. In the dream, me and my friend met in person at some kind of talent show or personality contest or something like that. And while neither of us won, we ended up dating. And there was this guy who was also interested in my friend but she chose me and he couldn't get over that but me and my friend just kind of laughed and walked off together. I don't know how I could really make that into a longer, more interesting and sneezy story so if anyone has any ideas, even if they are nothing like my dream, it would be greatly appreciated. As for the characters for the story, I've already come up with them as I said. One of them is named Shannon and she is about 5'5 with medium-length, straight, black hair and blue eyes. She has a somewhat athletic build and enjoys writing and painting and enjoys spending time with animals more than most people. The other one is named Lily Rose and she is a little shorter than Shannon, maybe 5,3, and has long, dark brown, wavy hair and green eyes. She is much more outgoing and loves to have fun. She enjoys being outside and spending time with animals even though she has a lot of allergies. I'm thinking Shannon (if not both of them) should have the fetish. I was really hoping to write a story for my friend for Christmas and I've been struggling to come up with a good idea for days now. I probably won't be able to write it and get it to her by Christmas but I would love to try. So, as I said, any ideas anyone has are greatly appreciated.
Wig_Powder Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 While that's a really nice thing you want to do for your friend, I do have to preface this by saying you should probably be careful. You described your friend as a "new friend", and then immediately said that this story is inspired by a dream you had where you and your friend started dating. I have no idea how long you've known this friend or how well you know them, but even if you don't outright tell them the inspiration for your story, there's a chance they could see the story as you coming on to them, which might feel like you're getting too close, too fast. So if this is a genuinely new friendship, you might want to keep this story on the backburner, or write it for yourself rather than as a gift. Onto actually trying to help with the story...while you should always write a story for yourself, a story that's meant to be a gift should include stuff the recipient likes. So, what sort of sneezy stuff does your friend like? Do they prefer colds or allergies? Do they like big powerful sneezes or small cute sneezes? Incorporating those details into the story might help you develop a plot. As for working within the ideas you laid out in your post, the first idea that immediately comes to mind is that Lily's performance in the talent show revolves around animals, and she pulls off the performance despite repeated sneezing (maybe she even makes a joke of it), which catches Shannon's attention. If you give Lily the fetish, then have Shannon end up sneezing during her performance, which either messes up her routine or is something she's able to recover from. So with that in mind, here's a possible outline; 1. Shannon goes to participate in the talent show. Lily goes first, and her sneezing catches Shannon's attention. 2a. A little later, Shannon performs, and everything goes fine. 2b. Shannon performs, but something makes her sneeze, which may or may not affect her performance depending on what you want to do. 3a. If you don't make Shannon sneeze, Shannon seeks out Lily to compliment her on her performance. They talk a bit and learn that they have some things in common (you can decide if Shannon wants to bring up that she likes sneezing or not during that convo). 3b. If you make Shannon sneeze, have Lily be the one to make the first move, to offer sympathy for an ill-timed sneeze. They end up talking and learning they have a lot in common, but in this case, I'd absolutely have it come up that they both like sneezing. 4. The winner of the talent show is announced, and neither of them won. They're a bit disappointed but not tremendously so, especially when one suggests that they go grab a coffee to get to know each other better. 5. If you want to incorporate the part about the guy, you either have him try to hit on one of the girls as they're leaving, or you show him hitting on one of the girls earlier, only for him to stare in disbelief as they leave together at the end. I hope that helps spark some creativity!

Plus my boyfriend and I always celebrate not only Christmas but the equinoxes and solstices too. Yesterday was the Winter Solstice so we had a small group of friends over to celebrate. Anyway, thank you so much for your ideas! It I like them a lot and it does help. Also I wanted to clarify about when i said "new friend". I say new but we've known each other for almost a year now. Maybe a little more. Although I will also say that I do have a tendency to develop crushes and such pretty quickly so I do appreciate your warning about being careful. I have decided to write the story for myself first, and after I finish it, wait a while and then figure out if I want to show it to my friend or not. If I don't show it to her, at least I can say I wrote and finished a story. Which, for me, would be an accomplishment in and of itself. I have a lot of trouble finishing stories. Anyway, thank you again. :)
