TheSneezeGirl Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Basically what it says. Is it allergies? Or are you naturally sneezy? Or is there something you use to induce that really makes you sneeze? I seem to have developed allergies as I’ve gotten older, and I think I’ve just become quite sneezy. I used to have a really good mental block but now my sneezes are so strong that I can’t hold them back. Which I find super embarrassing in public as I usually do about 6 at a time. It’s rough.
bingochamp7 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Great topic! I’m not a naturally sneezy person and I don’t have allergies. I also don’t have much success inducing with Q-tips, pepper/chili powder, or tissues. However, inducing with paper towels can bring on multiple sneezes because of the rough texture.
Moose Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I’m not naturally a very sneezy individual either and I’ve never had any luck with pepper, it just burns like mad. I don’t have any allergies or not sneezing ones anyway, I can get 2 or 3 holding a vibrating toothbrush to my nose, I’m usually able to get about 7-10 sneezes out using a rolled up Kleenex or with a Qtip, I have slightly better results using oral-B super floss dental floss strands as suggested by another forum user (thank you! Though I can’t remember your name at the moment!) but the thing that makes me sneeze most is chhinkni. It’s incredible stuff! I’ve only used it once since I just got it recently and I’m planning on making a post describing my first experience with it and asking some questions soon but I probably got 20-30 in one fit. So yeah that’s me 😊

TheSneezeGirl Posted January 1, 2022 Author Posted January 1, 2022 I’ve found today that stepping bare foot on to a cold floor can make me sneeze several times

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that as a cause, I love it. For me, chhinkni can most reliably induce a fit—but if my animal allergies are set off just right, I’ll sneeze pretty regularly for like an hour. This especially happens when I forget to take Claritin and I’m around a dog (I can’t bring myself to NOT play and cuddle with dogs). I usually try to fight off the sneezing as long as possible in these situations because I know once I start, I’ll never stop because any breathing (even through my mouth) tickles my nose and makes me start sneezing all over again 😅

It must be awful for you but it sounds amazing! I love a sneezing fit, even my own ones
newyorkfilmmaker Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Pepper. No question. Definitely my Achilles heel! Doesn’t stop me from cooking with it though!
SneezeKitties Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I get really bad hayfever, which for me is sadly all year round. Its much worse in some parts of year than others and if I take antihistamine during the not so bad parts of the year, i'm completely fine. But no matter how much antihistamine I take pre and during the bad parts of the year it always gets me, and this is usually when I most sneezy, accompanied with coughing, sore throat, runny nose and all the works. But normally I don't sneeze much and I can go several days without sneezing which kinda sucks. though I make up for it during hayfever season 😅
