The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947)

In the movie, Walter, played by the inimitable Danny Kaye is pranked by Tubby whatshisname with a book that puffs up sneezing powder when opened, causing him to sneeze a couple of times over the following minutes in the film. His fiance does stop him from sneezing shortly after, and the pre-sneeze expressions are rather delightful.

Unrelated to Walter Mitty... Danny Kaye did a sketch about a singer allergic to flowers being put next to a vase of them, pretending not to be allergic any more.
