Sneezing fit at the mall (f)

So my fiance gets pretty frequent allergies, and where I live it's the height of summer and the pollen counts are pretty high. 

Yesterday we went out to the mall to do some shopping. She had taken an allergy med earlier but was still kinda stuffy/sniffly regardless. 

It's pretty hot out so fiance was in just in like a sleeveless summery dress. 

While we were shopping one time, she'd turned and sneezed, one hand covering her mask, trying to stifle: "Chih! Chih! Chih!" which had left her sniffling. 

Then later we went to a cafe to grab some lunch. We were sitting down (masks off now) when she started rubbing at her nose with her hand. Her nose was kinda pink (probably from rubbing it with a mask on several times). 

She kept rubbing and got a sneezy look on her face for probably up to a whole minute. I think she was trying to stop the sneeze. But it didn't work. 

Suddenly she brought the palm of her hand to cover her nose, looked down and started to sneeze. 

"HnnnChuh! Nnchuh! Nnchuh! Chuh! Chuh!" She started out stifling. Then took a slight breath. "HihChoo! Hih-hh-hhChoo! ItShoo!!" She still looked sneezy but sniffled wetly. "Ahh-huh-Tchoo!!" "Hehh-Tchoo!!" These last two into both hands. 

She sniffed again, wetly. Then started to go through her handbag. She rummaged for about 10 seconds then stopped, still kinda looking like she might sneeze again, one hand covering her nose. 

"SNRRFF, I need a blow my nose", she said to me. 

"Do you have a hanky?" I asked. 

"I mbust've forgottend", she said, sounding really stuffy. 

I quickly got up and grabbed her a paper serviette from the counter. 

As I was coming back to the table, she clapped both hands over her nose and mouth again. 

"Heh-eh-Shoo!! Heh-eh-Shoo!!" She sneezed again, wetly. 

"Here ya go", I said, holding out the napkin. 

She pretty much snatched it off me, unfolded it and blew her nose wetly, trying to turn away from other customers while she did so. 

As I went to sit back down, she crumpled the wet serviette in her hand, sniffed wetly, and said "Baby, can you grab me one more". 

I came back with a couple and she blew her nose again then stuck the others into her handbag. 

Not super usual for her to have a fit that big but one of the perks of a partner with bad allergies

Ahh, bless her, it was a really swwet observation, I love how you got her some kind of tissues.

Also, sneezing is the mask is recently one of my favorites, but I have actually seen like one person do it, so it was interesting to read about that as well.

Thanks for posting this observation - she seems quite the sneezer!  The one thing I don't like about sneezing in masks is it takes away half of the expression of a building sneeze - glad you got treated to both on and off

Long for a time when masks are no more great for prevention of covid but ruins our experience. Conflicting, have covid impacted any fetish as much as ours?
