Melody
So the title pretty much says it all. Wasn't sure whether to put this in General Discussion or in Obs so i picked Obs. So, describe the circumstances of your worst cold. Where did you get it from? What were your symptoms? What did your sneezes sound like? Other details? Was there any caretaking involved? Honestly go into as much detail as you want! I just request that we keep it to colds only, no covid experiences please! I'm a little shy to share first, so please, someone else take it away lol. 🤣 Link to comment
ScorpionPrincess
My worst cold was actually about a month ago. Full of snot, I should have posted some videos lol. Not much sneezing but would have been great for nose blow lovers. I had a sore throat to start out and then a cough. I did have my fwb's best friend take me into urgent care to get a covid test because he himself was too lazy to do any caretaking which I was really upset about especially since the doctor's office was only 5 min away. I sneezed a few times though, they sounded a lot more congested than my normal sneezes, like "Heheghsshooo!" Kind of. My ex did take care of me for a day so that was nice. He ended up getting sick for a few days but I was sick for three weeks total. It was not covid or the flu I was tested for both so it must have just been a really bad cold! Link to comment
bingochamp7
My worst cold was about 2.5 years ago. Even though I didn't feel feverish or too awful, this still ended up being a whopper of a cold (probably because it was a summer cold). It pains me to say that I caught this cold from my dad. See, my dad almost never covers his mouth when he sneezes or coughs, so my mom, sister, and I ended up catching the cold as well. Day 1: I had a sore throat where it felt like I was swallowing pins - that's how painful it was. Day 2: I started coughing to the point where I had to cough each time I had to breath. The coughs were dry and scraped my throat, and I would cough 4-8 times each time I had to cough. By the end of the day, my nose started dripping and I had to keep wiping it. The snot was clear and felt like water. Day 3: What appeared to be just a chest cold became a head and chest cold as I was still coughing the same way as the day before and I started sneezing once or twice every hour to two hours. The sneezes were not that forceful or desperate, but they had a heaviness that cold sneezes typically have. My nose was still dripping like a leaky faucet. Days 4-7: The congestion and runniness cycle started to set in. I was congested most of the time and the only thing that broke the congestion was the multiple sneezes (4-8) that I would get every couple of hours. These sneezes were desperate, stronger, and more difficult to stifle, but at least I was able to blow my nose productively into paper towels afterwards. I felt these sneezes in my throat, which was already shot from coughing. While I was congested, I spent more time feeling like I was going to sneeze only for it to go away. Sometimes, my breathing would become uneven only for the tickle to go away. The coughs became phlegmy, but it was good because I was coughing less frequently by day 6 and 7. Day 8-9: I was still getting phlegmy coughs but they were less frequent. I was still congested and blowing my nose, but not as often. I think I sneezed 4 times in total over these two days. As far as medication goes, I took cough drops and drank warm water with lemon. When I became congested to the point of not being able to breathe through my nose for long periods of time, I inhaled the vapor of hot turmeric water to clear the congestion. No caretaking - I successfully hid this cold until day 4 when my m's and n's sounded like b's and d's. Edited January 18, 2022 by bingochamp7 grammar Link to comment
Trynasneeze
Pretty sure I caught it from my roommate at the time who was also bad for never covering her sneezes. She got sick a lot because she basically spent all her time partying/drinking and smoking like a pack a day. My worst cold was about 10 years ago. It was in late spring, came on quickly and stuck around for ages. The whole thing was just really messy. First day I was hanging out with friends and over about 6 hours went from perfectly healthy to developing a full on sore throat and couldn't stop sneezing. By the time I got home my nose was very sniffly and felt wrecked. I pretty much crashed out hard and then woke up at like 3am with the night sweats (mild fever) and congestion so bad I couldn't sleep again. The next 4-5 days I had a full week of classes and was going to class each day with a full on head cold. My nose was just uncontrollably runny all day and this cold was so sneezy (big, productive sneezes in doubles or triples), I was going through about 3-4 hankies a day in class just sneezing and blowing my nose so much, and then coming home to go to bed and go through like a roll of toilet paper per night blowing my nose -and was getting really broken sleep from all the congestion (I'm not good at mouth breathing). And then after the runny nose/sneezing got a bit better a few days later, I got a constant cough. The coughing and a lingering blocked nose lasted about another two weeks all up, and during this time I was less sneezy, my nose wasn't runny but every half hour or so I'd have to give my nose a productive nose blow to clear out all the thick snot that would build up in the back of it Edited January 20, 2022 by Trynasneeze Link to comment

I've never Phone bugged out and posted unfinished reply above can someone delete it please. Oh my. Love reading about all these colds. I've never really had one that would be considered bad. My colds are quite little but full of sneezes. The "worst" (best for me) cold I've had was a few years ago. It was so incredibly sneezy, like I'd have a 10 minute spell of over 50 sneezes. I was wrapped up warm in my fluffy dressing gown and had a warm foot-bath so being that sneezy, warm and comfy was so nice. I'd love to catch a cold like that again. Link to comment
Melody
I too, enjoy the cold part of this fetish (hypothetically at least) so thanks for all these responses I'm going to share my experience which is a little long, but if you're into colds this story is for you. The worst cold I ever had was about 2 years ago in March 2020 when I was studying abroad in the south of Ireland. I'm super into the party scene so me + Ireland was a dangerous combination. For about four months I survived on a diet mostly of cider and whiskey, stayed out at the pub every night until 2 am and never got any real sleep. I got sick from basically abusing my body, but as far as I know, I was sick person 0 and ended up giving my illness to most of my friends because we all drunkely shared drinks and cigarettes. My illness probably couldn't have come at a worst time lol. It first started off as a sore throat that grew progressively worse. By day 3 of this sore throat i felt like I was swallowing knives. It was throat pain so bad that it sort of radiated up to my ears. Unfortunately for me, during this week, covid pretty much hit Europe. There was talk of international students being asked to leave Ireland. I felt a sense of impending doom, and I knew I would be very soon asked to leave the country. Because covid was so new I went to a campus clinic, got a negative covid test and asked if I'd be okay to fly home if I had to. They said it was fine. A few days go by after this. By day 4 and 5 of me being sick I developed a really, really, bad wet cough that left me breathless. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest, and it was particularly bad at night. I would literally spiral into coughing fits that went on for 20 minutes. By the end my ribs and ab muscles would be sore. At this point it also travelled to my sinuses and I was sneezing more frequently than I've ever sneezed in my life, at least 20+ each day. I couldn't breathe without feeling like i needed to sneeze everything was so itchy?? It was so weird. I'm also very prone to headaches so I got the WORST sinus headaches from my congestion, which only intensified in pain every time I coughed or sneezed. My entire body also felt really achy and heavy. 😩 By day 6 of me being sick, Donald Trump announced that all American students had to leave Ireland basically within 24 hours. Within a day all of my friends were gone and moved out of my dorm complex. I was the only Canadian student left in the building. My stress level was at a fucking 11. I needed a flight to Toronto before the Canadian borders closed but all the flights were over $3000 dollars (legitimately). I stayed up all night on the website trying to book a flight. I felt so sick at this point that i actually considered staying in the country until I felt better which was unfortunately not possible because of border closure but I'd NEVER fly again that sick. Eventually I book a flight and travel over 4 hours to Dublin in the middle of the night. I think I had a fever because I was sweating profusely my entire train ride to the airport but my body was running on adrenaline if that makes sense? On the flight back home I was shivering because it's so cold in airplanes and I got the worst ear and head pain from my congestion. I tried to hold my coughing and sneezing on the plane because I didn't want to freak people out with covid and all, but it was so hard, this was really the only time my mental block completely failed me in public. Anyway, I land back in Toronto and I'm stuck in the airport for over 4 HOURS!! I'm so tried at this point I actually feel intoxicated. I'd been awake for over 24 hours. Eventually I finally get home and basically collapsed in my bed and slept for a day. I pretty much was confined to my bed for the next 2 days. I thought eventually I'd feel better after getting sleep, but I honestly did not. I don't think my body had a chance to heal with the stressful situation of basically being deported from a country. I had fever night sweats and also completely lost my voice for about a week. It was actually terrible. I'm pretty sure it was a really bad cold or laryngitis?? I shudder just thinking about it. I was sick for over a month. Literally all of March 2020. Butttt I learned a very valuable lesson to take care of my body and scale back my partying Edited January 21, 2022 by Melody Link to comment
Lazyrunner
About 10 years ago just after starting a new job, I think my immune system got lazy and couldn't cope with the onslaught of office germs. It started with a sneeze at around 10 am, then I sneezed every 20 minutes or so after that, with my new colleagues starting to notice and comment 🤦♂️😱. Later on that day I got the aches and chills, the following day was spent blowing my nose, sneezing, taking painkillers and trying to stay awake. I had a constant tickling in my nose that would get strong enough to make me sneeze every 20-30 mins, but there were also a lot of false starts in between. Link to comment

Wow, sorry that you were sick, but (secretly and bashfully) wishing that I could've heard some of those nose blows! What brand and color tissues were you using? My worst cold was right over Christmas 2021. I was sick for 10 days. I thought it was COVID too (got tested...negative). There wasn't too much sneezing, but TONS of nose blowing (about every 5-10 minutes, it seemed) and the snot ranged from sticky and yellow and gurgly and clear, enough to where the tissues were completely soaked! Even though I use Puffs Plus tissues, there was SO MUCH snot, some of it got into my hands. I think I did some audio recordings of those nose blows and posted them to my YouTube channel. I usually get a bad cold like that about once a year, then, my allergies usually get pretty bad in the spring. I think I can go through those big 6-pack of Puffs Plus tissues in about 3 months. Yep, my nose produces a copious amount of snot! Link to comment

bronwyn
my worst cold was about two years ago. it was all in my nose. super wet bad cold. lots of wet sneezes, snot dripping everywhere, sniffles and nose blowing. I was miserable. i had caught it at the worst time too. it was around finals and i had to go into class to take it. when i leaned forward my nose would leak uncontrollably onto my test. I was mortified and embarrassed that i had to hand it in. Link to comment
Moose
Unfortunately I never get sneezy colds and rarely get colds at all in general but my worst was probably about 2 years ago. December 2019 or January 2020 I got a nasty cold that totally took my voice away for about 4 days. I coughed almost constantly and I have asthma which seems to act up when I’m sick so that didn’t help. The whole experience lasted about a week and I swear I went through a whole bag of halls cough drops every day. seeing as this is a 𝘴𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘻𝘦 forum I feel I should also include the only sneezy cold I can remember which occurred only a few weeks ago. I could have picked it up anywhere as I travel for work but luckily I started to feel that I was sick on my first day off so I didn’t have to worry about giving it to anyone else. My nose was so congested all my M’s and N’s sounded like B’s and D’s. I blew my nose so often that it was rubbed raw and bright red. I still didn’t sneeze very much but sometimes I would rub my nose the wrong way and it would start a tickle way back in all the congestion that refused to leave. I knew of course with all the sniffling I’d been doing to keep from dripping snot everywhere these sneezes were going to be messy and oh boy, were they ever. They would come in slow fits where I’d sneeze every minute or so maybe a total of 5-10 times per fit. I kept most of the mess in tissues but there were a couple times where I was away from the tissue box that it just filled my hands or got all over my sweater as I ran to the bathroom to clean up. Super tickly and no relief no matter how much stuff I sneezed out. I try not to be loud when I’m sneezing so they were mostly quiet wet huh-tshhuh sounding. The sneeziness only lasted for 2 days and the rest of the week was just nose dripping and congestion. That’s all I’ve got! Link to comment
sneezevibes
I don’t get sick very often and haven’t had a ‘true’ cold in at least 2 years but the worst one I can remember having was probably when I was in high school (11th grade I believe). My colds always seem to start with a sore throat at night and by the next morning I get congested. Unfortunately I’ve never really been prone to get sneezy colds but I do remember that this was probably the sneeziest one I’ve ever had. Back in high school I had a huge mental block with sneezing in front of anyone (still do but I don’t think it’s quite as bad) but I remember for at least two solid days I lived “on the edge” of a sneeze constantly. My nose was running like crazy and I kept silently hitching trying to hold back a sneeze like every five minutes which also caused my eyes to get pretty teary. The sore throat only lasted about 3 days but all the congestion resulted in the need to cough pretty bad a lot as well. Any time between classes and during lunch I’d duck into the bathroom to blow my nose and if there was no one around I’d be able to let myself sneeze which was super relieving. They were definitely really wet and it varied from singles to triples with pauses in between. Mostly sounded like heh..Hiitchshuuu! Itchshu!… hih.. ih.. Hitchshuu!! Overall I remember just feeling absolutely miserable that week and super embarrassed/ desperate to stop myself from sneezing at school. 😅🙃 Link to comment
geniesong
Unfortunately, one of my symptoms of a cold isn't sneezing, but in high school I got sick after winter break. I was coughing and sniffling a bunch, both of which are pretty typical. However, this cold got to the point where I lost my voice for most of the day. I still went to school the days I was sick, not because I was forced to but because I didn't feel truly incapacitated (which is interesting considering I took naps when I got home and I hardly ever take naps). I would go about my day and whisper when I needed to talk, and then right before the last period of the day, I would have a pretty productive cough and get my voice back. I remember feeling kinda bummed about it because I was gonna use my lack of voice as an excuse for not participating in one of my classes. Looking back, this "worst cold" wasn't even as bad as it could have been. Link to comment
lilac-elixir
I don't remember my worst cold but I do vaguely recall a few unpleasant, worst-case scenario experiences I've had with a cold from quite a while ago. • One time I remember feeling a cold coming on and I thought I could nip it in the bud when the only symptom was a sore throat but that didn't happen. The next day I woke up with my throat still sore but this time accompanied with a runny nose. I think on the third or fourth day of that cold I had to help a few of my classmates and I was trying not to sniffle too much but it was physically impossible since I had to look down at people's papers. I have no idea if they knew I was sick or if they noticed I was uncomfortable. They kept coming to me for help and I really wanted to be left alone. I was very congested—my nose was stuffed up but it kept running so I kept having to pathetically wipe it on my hand. I hate sniffling because of the catarrh but once I'm forced to sniffle, I can't stop. I don't get sick often and I always forget what it feels like/how miserable it is. I did not handle the nasal symptoms well and I refused to blow my nose anywhere other than the bathroom... it was embarrassing. I can't remember if I sneezed a lot but I remembered suffering in silence because my nose was constantly wet and irritated and I almost suffocated from the mucus production (I didn't dare breathe through my mouth around all those people). • This is one took place at a cafeteria. So when I was younger, I was sitting with some people I wasn't super close with. I hated whenever people would say "you never get sick" because when I did, I would be insanely ashamed of myself and would deal with everything like such a dumbass clown (ironically, everything I hate irl probably contributed to me having this kink... Not sure how that works). Anyway, I was miserably sick that day and I didn't notice that one of my nostrils had started to leak and someone had the nerve to point it out very loudly. I think I accidentally denied that I was sick as a knee-jerk reaction and that person asked me if I had asthma instead and before I could reply I involuntarily sniffled in such a weird way (I thought it was normal but... it wasn't ;_; I wasn't aware of how obnoxiously I sniffled up until that moment) that everyone just stared at me. I excused myself to throw something away in the trash to buy time to sniffle and wipe my blocked, itchy, very runny nose. And then I had these phlegmy coughs... I probably grossed everyone out goodbye >_<; It was probably more dramatic in my head back then than in real life. Link to comment
Absolute1
Normally I have a relatively strong immune system which prevents me from being sick most of the time, but around this time last year I caught a horrible cold. Obviously at the time I was terrified that I had gotten COVID, but after around 4 tests in 2 days (lol) I stopped panicking. When I get sick, I'm ashamed to admit I usually try not to blow my nose, which I'm aware is pretty dumb but I just feel embarrassed about it haha. But, this time was the only exception I'll make, as my nose was literally a faucet for about 3 days straight. My sneezes were full of congestion and way more different to stifle than usual. After a few days I felt a bit better but overall was not a fun experience, especially at that time😅 Link to comment

I've always been fine with sneezing, etc in front of others normally but I would hate for people to think I was sick. I remember a good few years ago now, probably one of my last years of high school. I had come down with a cold but had a day full of classes. And my nose was really runny that day but because I thought I could act like I wasn't sick I hadn't brought anything to blow it with etc. I also did NOT like to sniffle loudly, because it sounded gross and like I was sick. Like I was literally way less embarrassing to blow my nose in class. So every class I had I would sniffle my nose under control before class so I could just use silent little sniffles to keep it like that, so people wouldn't hear me sniffling. (Even though I sounded congested and no doubt everyone knew I had a cold). But about half way through each class I'd feel a sneeze coming. So I'd try and push it away but when that didn't work, I'd sneeze, probably a big double. And all of a sudden my nose would be super runny again. But because I really didn't want to sniff audibly I'd have to keep wiping it on my sleeve like an idiot. Link to comment
