Validating getting worse or better?

I remember a while ago it was very hard to get validated and now time has passed and I'm wondering if there's still a shortage of people like mods to do the validating? I'm only asking because its happened multiple times where I want to start a convo w someone, only to find that they are still validating. Should I tell people to email me? I just wanna meet people and make friends and stuff you know.

We are still short-staffed, but towards the end of the year, after several weeks of hard work by our staff volunteers, we have validated every member who met the criteria for it and have announced this in the validation thread. If you want to know more about the validation criteria, do have a look in the Read Before Posting section where it's all laid out. 

The 50-post validation process is very work-intensive for the staff, so even with a full staff, this was often done once a month or once every two months.

Validating members won't be able to e-mail you, as contact details are only allowed in profiles, which is one of the features not accessible to those who are validating. If someone would like you to contact them, and they have that information in their profile, you will be able to get in touch with them via the information they have chosen to share in their profile.
