Arvani
Ok first obs I have written in like 15 years if ever so be kind I historically wake up with this weird one-sided nasal congestion. It essentially goes away on its own as the morning progresses but it’s there every darn morning and it annoys me. I’ve tried mucinex at night which kind of works but not well and just dries me out which sucks. So recently I tried Flonase and thought perhaps I hit jackpot. No more congestion in the morning! But what I am finding is that for the past few days I have had this background tickle/very slight burn in my sinuses. Really not much to even keep my attention except every once in a while it builds up and I feel like I’m about to sneeze. Probably 6 times out of 10 it then immediately goes away as soon as I start taking deeper inhales which is superbly annoying. It then just remains that background buzzing feeling. Today I was at work and I was sitting doing paperwork and that feeling started up. I must have started what felt like a “pre-sneeze” for lack of a better term 10 times. I was sitting for probably about 20 minutes and became increasingly frustrated every time. I could feel my nostrils flaring and my breath begin to catch and then … whole lot of nothing. (I’m in health care so always masked, thus I doubt anyone could tell what was happening - although I don’t have any kind of reservation about sneezing in front of others) This probably went on for 20 minutes of me doing paperwork and I finally was able to get back to my car. I decided that I had enough of the teasing and that maybe if I induced some out, it would feel better for the rest of the afternoon. So I’m in a parking lot but it’s really fairly empty and there is no one around me, so I just use a tissue to try and coax things along. The first one takes a bit of coaxing, but good god when I finally got it, the feeling was immediate. The sinus/deep tickle I had felt combined with the tissue and I was nearly immediately rewarded with a “haahh-EShhhh ahh my god”. Honest to god that was my reaction. It was quite possibly the most vocal ending to a sneeze I have done in life, haha. The whole girly “ahh” sigh at the end and everything which I rarely do. It was great, but I still felt that background feeling still. I held motionless for a second, eyes closed, hoping maybe I had set something in motion that would continue on its own but it was not to be. I proceeded to help it along again and sneezed four more times, each of them the same “hahhh-ESHhh ahhh” with each subsequent sneeze carrying that same vocal sigh. Figuring I either had fixed it or I was just doomed to keep feeling this way, I stopped. It wasn’t an immediate fix, but I do feel like it has subsided this afternoon/evening. I wonder though - I have taken a two day break from the Flonase to see if that was the culprit, and I may just try some “sneeze science” to use it tonight and see how I feel tomorrow. 😆 Link to comment

Lazyrunner
Excellent post, I get the teasing 'background tickle' from time to time as well, usually when I'm in a hot and dry atmosphere, and it drives me up the wall Link to comment
