Moose
The title pretty much says it all but I’m curious as a non allergic person and I don’t think it’s been brought up before on here. is the tickle similar, stronger, different entirely? Is there significant overlap between them or are they totally independent experiences? I don’t have any allergies and chhinkni is the only thing that can give me fits so I need to know y’know? Melody
What an interesting question!! Do not have any allergies so cannot answer this one but I’m curious to hear peoples answers! Link to comment
SterlingSilver
I agree, interesting question!! I have very little experience -- had an isolated allergic reaction to something in someone's house once -- but here's my two cents! Chhinkni is a really sudden and powerful kind of feeling for me. It burns every time and makes my eyes water. It feels like it doesn't so much as itch at first, as much as it burns, and then all at once it inflates into a sneeze. And then that just repeats over and over rapidly until it runs out of steam. Usually toward the end, I'll have some false starts. Not really a tickle that's persisting, but one that's growing or shrinking in intensity until it finally gets strong enough for another sneeze. For me, the allergic tickle was an all-over sensation inside my nose with no real point of origin. It was a constant level of tickling that eventually resulted in a sneeze, rather than something that felt like it was growing. No amount of rubbing or nose-blowing made it go away. It felt like I was always half-way to a sneeze, with a full-coverage tickle prickling in there the whole time. And the feeling never got stronger but it also didn't diminish, no matter how many times I sneezed. I didn't have rapid fits though, just one-off sneezes that kept happening every few minutes. Chhinkni was definitely "spicier" and a way more immediate, powerful, sensation that kept restarting. While the allergic reaction felt like this prickling tickle that never quite felt finished. I hope that's helpful! I'd be curious to hear from people who have more frequent allergies / triggers, or who sneeze regularly in fits when exposed to allergens. Link to comment

Wow that must feel pretty great to have a persistent all over tickle like that, at least when you’re in the mood for it and take it by choice anyway haha, maybe not when it hits unexpectedly at a friend’s place and you can’t stop it Link to comment
Sawdust
I am allergic to Birch and Ragweed. From my experience my allergies kind of overwhelm me a bit and the typical symptoms arise from that. Itchy eyes, stuffed/runny nose and sneezing. The sneezing though is kind of out of nowhere with no real build up, rather just a quick but intense tickle. The tickle is persistant though and low level the entire time.Chhinkni on the other hand is completely different. Its like nothing at first, than after a few seconds it just hits me like a freight train. Super intense strong burning tickle followed by a flurry of rapid sneezes that slow down into a longer drawn out fit. Your experience may vary. Link to comment
Femsnzspry
I've never tried chinnikkii but I do have Allergies/hayfever . Having allergies the sneezing fits can last a while and As they say you will continue to sneeze until the allergens or irrantants are no longer in your nose/sinuses and or no longer in the vicinity of the allergens/ irratants Link to comment
Engmanny
Sounds like the duration is key difference Link to comment
bloom
one difference i didn't see anyone mention is that chhinkni feels physically cold inside your sinuses as opposed to allergy issues, which in my exp. often make sinuses feel inflamed/hot Link to comment

Holdbacks
The tickle is totally different. The tickle of Chhinkni is much stronger and it burns and stimulates tickle spots directly. I try to holdback tho when I breathe in, the tickle comes straight to the peak and burst out sneezing. It lasts till burning runs out, so I get rapid sneezing like +10 times. I have heyfever the tickle is kinda good, ahem, worse. The tickle is weak, but my nose tickles a whole day. I cannot stop sneezing if I sniff too much. Link to comment
