bingochamp7
1) I catch one cold every year or one every 2 years. 2) I usually get colds around December/January. 3) My colds typically last 7-10 days. 4) When I get a head cold, the symptoms are sore throat, sneezing, feeling the need to sneeze, runny nose, sniffling, congestion, m’s and n’s that sound like b’s and d’s, and glassy/watery eyes from being congested. When I get a chest cold, the symptoms are sore throat, dry and wet coughs, and a runny nose. Sometimes I get head and chest colds where all of the mentioned symptoms are present. My least favorite symptoms are constantly feeling like I’m going to sneeze only for it to go away and extreme congestion to the point of not being able to blow and difficulty breathing through my nose. 5) I don’t stay home when I get a cold because I don’t feel too awful. Plus I’m really bad at telling people that I have a cold so I just carry on as normal. 6) If it’s purely a chest cold, I don’t sneeze any more than normal. But, if it’s a head cold or a head+chest cold, then I can sneeze up to 30 times a day. 7) I normally sneeze singles or doubles when I’m not sick. On the second day of the cold before the congestion sets in, I sneeze singles and/or doubles every 30 min or every hour. After day 2, I get multiples, which means 4-10 sneezes from one tickle. 8 ) I’m more of a sniffer, especially when I’m around other people. I sniff most of the time to avoid making my nose raw from blowing too much. But I blow my nose when it drips like crazy or after a few sneezes, so that’s 5-10 times a day. 9) If I’m sitting in bed, I use an old cloth (similar to a hanky) or I resort to the blanket/bedsheet if I’m really tired. If I’ve been inducing while sick, I use paper towels to blow. When there are other people around, I usually go to the bathroom to blow, where I use toilet paper or blow my nose over the sink and wash my hands. I typically don’t use an old cloth or blanket/bedsheet to blow when I’m not ill. 10) If I have to go out, I sniffle until I can get to a bathroom stall to blow my nose. I generally don’t carry tissues because I can go to the bathroom and use toilet paper, but if I anticipate not having anything to blow with, I will carry paper towels or pocket tissues. 11) I don’t like being fussed over when I’m sick, but I wouldn’t mind some caretaking from an SO (simple things like cuddling, watching TV and movies with me and bringing me refreshments, water, and Vitamin C). 12) No I have never tried that even though I like contagion and getting others sick on purpose in stories. Great questions! I enjoyed taking this survey. Link to comment
Jacob sneezes1234
1. I'd say I catch two colds a year 2. one always in the late fall/early winter and then one minor one every now and then. 3. Depends, they're rather short at maximum it's a week. 4. Mostly a sore throat and congestion 5. No. It would have to be pretty bad in order for me to stay home 6. my nose will be more sensitive, I sneeze a bit more but not a lot, they tend to get more messy though. 7. Multiples during allergy season, singles the rest of the time, they become more powerful and messy singles 8. I'm a sniffer most of the time but I do blow my nose when I need to. When I have a cold I'd say I blow my nose at least 10 times a day? idk don't remember off the top of my head 9. I exclusively use tissues (toilet paper if I run out), you'll need a really strong argument to convince me thank handkerchiefs are better than tissues they just seem gross. 10. When I'm sick I usually don't bring anything, I try to keep a low profile and not give it away that I'm sick. I will bring tissues with me in the spring time though. 11. I wouldn't say I like being taken care of when I'm sick, I'm fine on my own 12. uh no comment. yeah Link to comment
Trynasneeze
Thanks guys, here are my own answers: 1) I catch about 3-4 colds most years these days 2) I live in the southern hemisphere. Normally one when the seasons change about March, one in May/June as winter starts, and at least one in the spring around October. Sometimes a summer cold or another winter one. 3) Normally last for about 5-7 days 4) Mine always start with a sore throat, then the sneezing picks up quickly turning into a runny nose. Nose get a locked within a day or 2 and at some point during all the classic sneezy, snotty symptoms I'll usually get a bit of a cough. I hate coughing, it's so annoying 5) I don't know that I've stayed home sick much ever, if so only for a day 6) For the first 3-4 days I sneeze a lot. 7) Normally I only ever sneeze in singles, but when I am sick it becomes doubles or triples during the peak of it. Rare to sneeze more than that 😎 I cannot stand sniffling. When I'm at the peak of a cold I probably blow my nose every 10-15 minutes at least 9) I mostly use toilet paper, but when I'm in the peak of a cold I have couple bandanas I use as hankies as they are big and soft. Last cold I did buy a box of Kleenex for like the first time ever though 10) I will bring a bandana sometimes if my cold is bad but more often than not I don't. Normally end up wishing I had though. I certainly never buy those pocket tissues 11) No. Not a fan of being taken care of 12) Absolutely. I'm a big contagion fan so have been known to spread my colds Link to comment
SneezeAbbie
1) Before covid, about 2 colds a year. 2) Usually one in October and then another one towards March/April in the spring. 3) Usually last about 5-6 days. 4) My colds often begin with either a scratchy throat or a non-stop runny nose, I then begin to get congestion about 2 days after that and then a cough. 5) I normally continue my normal life unless I feel really ill or I lose my voice, if I do stay home it’s for the day, 2 at a push. 6) I’m not a sneezy person and don’t get sneezy colds but when I am sneezy I normally sneeze once an hour. 7) Always in singles. 8 I try and sniffle when I can (providing it’s not too wet or runny), if I’m sniffly in public than I just dab my nose with a tissue. I blow my nose when I’m in private. 9) Always tissues or toilet paper. I’m considering buying a couple of good handkerchiefs though. 10) I take a few tissues with me 11) Meh, it depends. Most of the time when I’m ill I like to be left alone. But if I’m feeling pretty rough than I appreciate caretaking (running fingers through my hair/forehead or back rubs hit the hot note!). 12) Nope, not intentionally anyway. Seeing someone else miserable knowing that I caused it would make me feel horrible. Link to comment
oOMariusOo
1) It depends, it is very variable. I can catch mini colds all year round, some not always with sneezing, just a runny and itchy nose. For the biggest colds, it's already much rarer, it only happens to me a few times a year. And for cataclysmic colds, once every three, four or five years. 2) Mine are too scattered over the year to really know. This winter, for example, was particularly hard on my nose. I've had several colds in the last few months, but that's not significant because there are plenty of winters when I had absolutely nothing. 3) Extremely short, even for the strongest colds, I have them for 2 or 3 days maximum with only one day out of the three when I sneeze for a few hours at most. 4) Same, it's always very variable. Sometimes the urge to sneeze is stronger, sometimes it's controllable, usually accompanied by my nose buzzing into my sinuses, a little sore eyes, stuffiness, runny nose. My least favorite part I would say is the congestion. Or when I'm outside, surrounded in a place full of people and I really need to sneeze. Despite my mental block, sometimes the tickling is way too strong and it overcomes my mental block often forcing me to sneeze wet in public. 5) A simple cold does not prevent me from going out. Only if accompanied by high fever do I stay in bed. 6) A small cold, I sneeze 10 to 20 times during the day. A bigger one, I sneeze 30 to 50 times. And a cataclysmic cold can sometimes reach 70 sneezes but it's extremely rare, it's happened to me very few times in my entire life. 7) Without a cold, I sneeze in sets of two or three, but when I have a cold, I sneeze in sets of one, two, three, four or five. For example, I can sneeze a series of three then a series of two 10 seconds later. Or sneeze directly a series of five one after the other. It all depends on the intensity and cause of the cold. I think I would tend to sneeze long sets if I have a cold from the cold. 8 ) I am a sniffer, I very rarely blow my nose. I blow my nose when my nose is exceptionally wet and my nose is running way faster than I can breathe. Or when it's quite noisy, in a quiet room surrounded by other people. I slip away for a moment so I can blow my nose. 9) I mainly use toilet paper. If I am feverish in my bed, dazed and unable to move, I have already happened to blow my nose in my blanket, in my plaid or even in the sleeve of my pajamas. And sometimes in the shower, when my nose keeps running really hard, I've already blown my nose in my hands. 10) I never take a handkerchief with me, there is always the possibility for me to slip away and go to the toilet. 11) In a relationship, I always like to take good care of each other. If I had a married life and my wife was sick, I would be very attentive to her. I would give her hugs, sinus massages, make her warm honey milk with breakfast in bed. I place my hand on her forehead and would be very attentive to anything she might need. I would even go so far as to delicately clean her nose, if it drips when she is resting. But if it's me who gets sick. I think it will depend on the personality of the one I share my life with, if she is caring and cuddly or even a sneeze fetishist, I don't mind being pampered. On the other hand, if she is none of that, I would not like her to take care of me beyond the minimum. 12) No never. And I wouldn't do it on someone who isn't a fetishist. For example, if I had a girlfriend with a sneeze fetish or a contagion fetish, I wouldn't mind. Nice questions, it was nice to be able to answer them. I always like quizzes like this. If other members have similar questions, send them to me ! Edited March 5, 2022 by oOMariusOo Link to comment
Melody
1) Usually I catch 2 colds a year, one bad one and one minor one. 2) Normally at the season changes, so Oct/Nov and March/April 3) It depends on the severity of the cold but usually 5-7 days. 4) When I get sick it usually starts with a sore throat, sneezing, and body aches. After a few days heavy congestion sets in and I get super stuffed up which always causes facial pain/migraines. I actually despise being sick for this reason. I'll have a consistent migraine for the entire time of a cold, or at least until my congestion goes away. The head pain always makes coughing and sneezing really painful 😩 It is hands down my least favourite symptom. 5) Before covid, I'd never stay home if I was sick. If I did, I'd have to be on the verge of death. However i'm super against contagion so I will do everything in my power to wash my hands and keep away from others when I'm out and about. 6) Yes, I sneeze way more when I'm sick. Probably average around 15-20 sneezes a day. 7) Having a cold definitely changes the frequency of my sneezes, usually I'll sneeze anywhere from 2-8 times in a row. It's really the only time I'll sneeze in multiples. 8. I really hate when people hear me blowing my nose. But I definitely prefer blowing my nose to sniffing because it relieves congestion which makes my head pain feel a bit better. I blow my nose a lot because of this, probably around 10-15 times a day. 9) I always just use tissues or toilet paper to blow my nose. It never really changes if I'm sick or not sick. 10) Yeah, I'm one of those people who just goes out and hopes for the best. I'll take cold medicine to make my symptoms less intense during the day time, but usually I just use toilet paper from bathrooms if I'm out. 11) No, I really hate being taken care of when I'm sick. I hate it so much that I will go out of my way to make sure it doesn't happen. Usually I try to hide the fact that I'm sick for as long as possible until my congested voice gives me away. 😩 12) No, this is (sorry) absolutely a disgusting thing to do to someone in real life. Some people get really affected even by the smallest of cold viruses. Being sick is actually painful for me and I would be disgusted if someone deliberately gave me a cold just for the fun of it. I just want everyone to be at their optimal health. This fantasy will live in fics for me. Link to comment
freakofnature04
1) The past couple years I really hadn't gotten sick at all (probably because of the masking and everything), but over winter break I went home and had a lot of contact with people unmasked (I'm vaccinated, just the place i live is more casual about covid stuff and nobody really masks anymore compared to where i go to college) so I spent half the time slightly sick with either the same or a bunch of different minor headcolds 2) usually just whenever I don't get a lot of sleep and spend a lot of time around people, but theres no typical time of year or anything for me 3) If I'm proactive and a bit lucky, I can make it go away before it turns into a full 'cold' and is just the beginning symptoms. If not, 4-6 days of misery followed by 5-6 days of recovery while still being a bit 'sick' 4) depends on the cold. Recently though I've only had sneezing, runny nose and congestion but nothing below the nose (not even a sore throat). I consider myself lucky 5) I never used to, but with the pandemic and everything I now try to stay home and chill if i think it will get rid of it faster. PSA: Sleep is important for your immune system! 6) Yeah, whenever I can't hold my sneezes back and they don't get better after changing locations I know i'm getting sick and its not just allergies 7) Usually multiples, unless I'm in public then I have a partial mental block that only lets me get 1 out (but it feels weird and unsatisfying). Allergies means 3-6 in a row, with colds usually fewer in a row but more often 8 ) Used to only sniff when I was younger until I realized how much more convenient it is to blow. Now I blow as long as I can be somewhat discreet about it 9)Tissues more if I'm sick, rags or hankies/bandanas if allergies or just hanging at home 10) Well I usually have a pocket pack in my backpack and my car but if not then honestly I'd rather use my sleeve or wrist than have snot running down my face 11) No, not really. I don't deny it when I'm sick but I also would prefer to keep it on the DL, not have anyone acknowledge it or take note really. 12) Um... no. Actually in real life colds kind of disgust me, which is why I'm more into allergy sneezing Link to comment

Italiangirl
1) Before the pandemic,I usually caught 1/2 colds a year. I haven't had any colds since 2020,though. 2) I generally get colds during the autumn/winter (during cold season, basically),especially in September/October and January and once I caught a really bad summer cold. 3) My colds last for about 5-7 days but the congestion lingers on until the 10th day or so. 4) When I have a cold the 1st symptom is a really bad sore throat that gets progressively worse, followed by a runny nose and a few sneezes (which start around day 2). My nose also feels slightly tickly and irritated. After that, the sneeziness and the sore throat go away and the runny nose gets replaced by the congestion, which is always terrible,to the point where I sound very congested (my m's and n's sound like b's and d's),which is very annoying! Sometimes I also get a cough (which is often dry) and a low-grade fever. My least favourite symptoms are definitely the sore throat and the congestion (especially when it gets so bad that I can't even breathe through my nose). 5) I only stay at home if I have a fever or my congestion/cough gets so bad that it's unbearable or I feel really sick. 6) No,I never sneeze a lot after the 2nd day of a cold. I don't seem to get sneezy colds. The sneezes are not very frequent and they are present only at the beginning of my colds (unless I induce to get them out and relieve the congestion). 7) I always sneeze in singles/doubles unless I have allergies (then I would also sneeze in triples sometimes). 8) I'm a sniffer at the start of a cold when I have a runny nose and then I start blowing when the congestion sets in,but I try to be as discrete as I can in public. Once I start blowing,I never stop until my cold goes away and my nose and upper lip get all chapped and raw from all the blowing. 9) I usually use disposable tissues but when I run out/I'm in the bathroom I might also use toilet paper. When I'm in the shower I use my bare hands and then wash them. 10) I always bring my own tissues and only use toilet paper if I run out and I'm too embarrassed to borrow tissues from someone else. 11) No because I don't want people to notice that I'm ill. 12) No,I've never shared my colds on purpose because I think it would be disgusting, but I've definitely made other people sick unintentionally. Contagion is something I don't like in real life but I do enjoy it in fics. Edited March 9, 2022 by Zumil4702 Link to comment

I usually sneeze singles normally but when I have a cold it's definitely multiples. 8. Definitely a nose blower and probably about 15 - 20 times per day. 9. I use mainly handkerchiefs but I also use kleenex balsam extra large tissues. I also have a couple of bandanas. This does not vary if I'm not sick either. 10. I take my own and make sure I have a large supply of tissues and handkerchiefs in my truck for when I'm at work. 11. I've never been taken care of when I'm sick, not really even as a child. 12. Mems
ooh I love this! So fun! Thanks for the topic! 1) How many colds do you catch a year? Sometimes up to 6 😭 2) What times of year typically? Any and all 3) How long do your colds last? If it’s just a cold, then usually about a week... but I often end up with sinus or ear infections or bronchitis and those can last a month or so. 4) What symptoms do you normally get? Which is your least favourite to deal with? Sometimes sneezy at the beginning, sometimes just a sore throat at the beginning. Usually a few days of congestion’. Always always a chesty cough by the end. 5) Do you stay home when you're sick? How many days for? I usually work through a cold but will stay home for a few days if it turns into something more. I try not to go out otherwise though and I always mask these days! 6) Do you sneeze a lot when you're sick? Sometimes at the veryyyy start of a cold. 7) Do you sneeze in singles or multiples? Does it change while you have a cold? Singles typically and nope I don’t think so! 8😎Are you more of a sniffer or a blower? How often do you blow your nose? Both, depending on how bad it is! Usually not often unless I have a cold. 9) What do you use to blow your nose? (Tissues, hankies, toilet paper, bandanas, bedsheets...) Is this any different sick Vs not sick? Viva brand paper towels are my fave! Stronger than tissues and bigger but still super soft. I will use tissues too though, and if I’m home and have a bad cold I’ll use an old tee shirt or pillow case as a hanky. 10) If you go to work/school etc when sick, do you take your own tissues/handkerchief or just sniffle and hope there is something to blow your nose with? There are always tissues at my work and I use those, although it’s taken a lot to be comfortable blowing my nose in public 11) Do you like being taken care of when sick? In what way? Eh... not so much. I like to mostly be left alone. I do love someone picking up the slack with cooking, cleaning, etc when I’m sick though. 12) Have you ever deliberately given someone your cold? Nope! Link to comment
