Sore throat

Is it normal to get a sore throat before/during a cold sore? I’ve had a sore throat for about 3 days; the two days the pain was near the roof of my mouth and hurt more when I swallowed or spoke. Today however, the pain is more down my throat, and I feel like I need to cough a bit. The pain isn’t like the usual pain when I feel like I’m coming down with something so I don’t think I’m getting sick.

(Well I hope not because my birthday is on Saturday)

Anyway, I noticed today that I’m starting to get a a cold sore on my lip which I haven’t had in years. So is it normal to have a sore throat when you have a cold sore?

I’m not sure. I hope your sore throat doesn’t get worse so you can enjoy your birthday. Happy birthday in advance btw.
