Trynasneeze
I feel like every cold seems to have 1-2 days that are way worse than all the others, normally one. For me, it's normally about the middle day. By this stage I won't really have a sore throat anymore, and I also won't have developed much of a cough. But it will be a day where the congestion has set in, you're permanently blocked on one side. Nose is constantly runny with that "full" feeling where it needs blowing all the time. And every 20mins/half an hour or so when you've probably just sniffled/blown that nose enough to get its productiveness under control again, a big sneeze or two hits, making it runny again and sending you straight back to the tissues/hankies to sort it out. How would you guys describe the worst/peak day of your colds? Link to comment
bingochamp7
Worst/peak of a cold for me is when the congestion/runniness sets in, so days 3-5. My m’s and n’s become b’s and d’s and it’s obvious that I’m sick. At times, I also experience one nostril that is completely blocked while the other one drips. Sometimes the congestion gets so bad that I have to breathe through my mouth. My nose also drips like crazy and I need to dab at it with a cloth. My sneezes are also really itchy during the peak. There is so much buildup to my sneezes and I end up losing the tickle 2 or 3 times before I finally sneeze 4-10 times from the tickle. These sneezes are louder, wetter, and harsher. Stifling is definitely difficult and I need to pinch my nose to stifle sneezes quietly. After I sneeze, I have to blow my nose as wiping and sniffling no longer work and these blows can get really productive. After a productive blow, I can breathe through my nose for a while before I get congested again. Link to comment
Sneeze-aholic
I think the end of day 2 and into day 3 are usually worst for me. I'm usually sneezing more on these days as well as the sneezes being stronger. Link to comment
Italiangirl
I think the worst day of a cold for me is usually the 3rd one, because it's the day in which the sore throat and the sneezing are gone but my congestion really sets in, replacing the runniness, my m's and n's sound like b's and d's, I need to blow my nose every 5 minutes and sometimes I even have to breathe through my mouth. The snot is pretty thick at this point and it gets very hard to remove it so blowing my nose is useless but I do it anyway to get a short relief. Actually, whenever I get a cold it usually stays like this until the tail-end so the peak lasts until the 6th day or so. Edited March 29, 2022 by Zumil4702 Link to comment
Jessica
I think I'm similar to most of you guys. My worst day is the second or third day where my nose is extremely runny and full at the same time. I also sound very congested, and everyone notices my illness at this point. I don't sneeze except in private (if I want to) because of my mental block. I don't mind suffering through the symptoms in private, but in public I really hate wiping my runny nose or blowing it because I have an irrational fear that everyone with think that I'm disgusting. I end up sniffing and snorting all the snot and swallowing it, which leads to my voice becoming deeper, and a couple of days later I start coughing all the time because of this terrible habit 😅. At least coughing doesn't embarrass me hahaha 🤷🏻♀️ Link to comment
Liath.two
Not terrible, but usually the second day. And the only symptom I get thats bad is a really runny nose. Eventually my nose hurts 😩 Link to comment

SneezeLucario
I think the third day because my throat is burning less but my nose is very stuffy and i always have dry snot between my nose and my mouth. Also my nostrils are almost never stuffed at the same time and it's making me crazy and a horror for sleeping. Link to comment
Melody
definitely the third day where the congestion sets in and I get horrible migraines that spreads all the way down my arms. 😖 Link to comment
