The science of sneezes

( Yes, i still haven't continued my previous story but i will finish it, i just write some ideas for now).
 

Picture this : a woman in the street, her big nose buried in a hankie with loud blowing. You would think that is a woman suffering of a nasty cold and/or allergies, right? Well you'll be only half-right.

You see, in this world, women doesn't suffer of these affliction. In fact, they love it and try to make them the worse they can. And like those are pretty much the only kind of illness, nurses and doctors are here to make those who ask sick with colds or sniffing their allergies. 

Audra is a searcher, more precisely a sneezologist, a scientist exclusively dedicated to study and create methods for sneezing. Speaking of create, a benign accident the day before had release an experimental powder making lasting flowers smell for a few days. That's why Audra was the nose in her handkerchief while entering her lab. These days, Audra was working on her project, creating a cold so powerful than he could last a full year without getting better? Of course that was not something than you could create in one day, so for now she was alternating between her pet project and smaller studies. Her wife was saying that she would change the object of her attention with each sneeze and she wasn't that far off.

Her wife, Jane, was a doctor and in an appointement with a woman asking for the implementation of flowers in her nostrils (the new fad). With there domains, it was not a surprising that the two loved testing things on each others with new ideas piratically every weeks. But even if they were impatient to see each other this evening it now time for work.

(Yeah not sneezing for now but don't worry there will be a plenty. I will do the two anyways but what would you like, start with Audra or Jane?)

Wow, one of my inspirations like this, i guess i must be doing something right😅.

(That was kind of long so i butched the end a little, don't worry i promised you will have more sneezes in the next chapters). 

"AESSHIEEWW!!" 

That was the sound who was heard everywhere in the building on every variations. Audra herself has already do multiples before entering in her lab, after a last blow she began her work, her nose more clear with the lack of pollen in her lab.

She was working on her cold project thinking about her main problems : the infection time and the diminution of the symptoms coming with it. The solution was either make a more powerful cold or weakening the nose defenses but neither of them had worked for now. She would have loved worked on that all day but she was supposed to participate to at least one experiment this day but with her pet project still not ready, she will show one of her smaller projects : a simple tissue made with allergies materials. Seeing the time, Audra set her way to test room with her experiment and her personal handkerchief.

Of course once she was out, her nostrils was now full of pollen and sneeze in her handkerchief all the way until the test room. "ASHOOO ASHIEEWW ASSHHIEEEWW!!" Her fits were usually by three. Inside the test room were Aïsha, a woman with dark brow skin and curly black hair and test subject in addition to supervise the room.

" -Audra, it's nice to see you. You came to test something?

 -ASHIEEWWW! Yeah *sniff*.

- Wonderful! Write your name in the list and we can begin. " 

Aïsha walked to the center on the room while Audra registered her time in the room. After that, Audra give her tissue to Aïsha, telling her "- It's the tissue, just blow yourself in. -Just the tissue? All right." And with that, when Aïsha's nostrils touch the tissue, they immediately started to react: "AHH...AHH...ASHHOOOOO ASHHHOOOOO ASHIIEEEWW!!!" She sneezed for 5 good minutes with just after a overjoyed face saying "Audra, that's awesome! Do you know how that would sell?" " I guess but it was just a side project" answered Audra with a shrug . "Just a side project? Wait to see when the director will learn of it, now that will make her happy."

Yes the director was stern with the quality of the projects, that was in part why Audra was a perfectionist. After a last talk with Aïsha on a reunion the nest day, the searcher was going back to her lab, wondering about her wife day.

(And now Jane's part. Sorry, i'm terrible with updates).

"ASSSHHIEEWWW !" Jane had her nose inside of a tissue with her second box of the day almost empty, also she had a cold. Not that it was a bad thing, quite the contrary, that was proving that she was a capable doctor. No, the problem was that no matter how much she liked her job, somedays she really just wanted staying at home with her wife rather than speaking with some patients.

"Baa'b, i'b tellig you for five bidutes thad you bust take the pladt lotiod for a week before sniff...sniff... before doig the procedure" was telling a tired Jane to a blonde stuborn woman in a purple dress with her clivage in evidene on the desk. "But can't you just do a exception? I really need those flowers, i have a date and..." "Well i'b sorry for your date but again, you just have to take the lotiod for a...a week...SHHIIEEWW!" The woman take a smug look "well i've heard than these lotions are doing nothing than the procedure can't already do." Oh for crying all loud "But i already told you thad that for preparing the roots add...Neverbind, if you dod't wadt your treatebedt you cad go. DEXT!!"

After lots of useless protests arguing for the same points again and again, the woman finally go and Jane doesn't even take the effort of sneezing on her, preferring blowing in her tissue.Her next patients are fortunately less problematic and her day pass as usual. Her last patient of the day is a young goth woman with two rings on one nostril and black hair stopping to the shoulders from a side and almost completely shaven from a the other. "Hello, i'm here for a cold treatement." "A cold treatebent...Ah yes, that was the level 2 isn't?" asked Julia. "Yeah, since a few years it's became difficult for me to catch a cold, even in winter, so i hope than a tratement will help " said the young woman with an anxious tone. "Dod't worry, i'b sure that it will be fast, now could you please close your ey...eyes...sniff ?"

After asking that, Jane leave her chair for putting her face before the young woman and start the beginin of the treatement. "ASHIEWW ASHHHIEEWW AAH...AHHSSHIIEEWWW!!" The snot is recovering the woman face. This thing clear, Jane blowed her nose in her tissue (or rather what ws still intact) before saying to the woman. "I've dode the first step, you cad go see Liz, id the roob dowd to the hall to the left. She wil explaid to you what to do after tha...a..a...ASHIEW !" "Thank you doctor" answered the woman before leaving the room.

It was a ordinary day for Jane, and like all the ends of ordinary days she really wanted to see what her wife will have to say this evening.

But as she returned to her lab, Audra was called by an employee. "Mrs Audra? The director wants to see you."

The director? Audra had a few idees why she wanted a meeting but knew it was useless to discuss further and walked to the last floor to knock to the director office. Not even two seconds after, she was invited to enter.

The director was a stern looking asian woman in buisness suit and glasses with her black hair in a perfect bun. "Ah, mrs Audra, sit down please" she said designating the chair before her desk. "You surely wondering why i called you here?" "It's about my project, isn't? I'm sorry, i really doing my best for..." "Actually it's not only for that" said the director, cutting Audra in her defence. "Oh, so what do you want for me ma'am?" The director sigh before answering: "I wanted to tell you that when your project leaked, others research facilities were very enthusiastic about helping it. I suppose you are aware why?"

Of course, Audra was aware of that. For an unknown reason, the last decades were seeing more and more women starting to resisting to colds and having less and less allergies. The director notably, had gained the nickname of "The Woman who never sneeze" since her abnormal resistence was particularely strong. Multiples scientist were working hard on how reversing that but without any many succeses. Well Audra were working on it and were sure that she could do it, she wasn't able for now but she'll do it.

"I am aware why ma'am" answered Audra to her superior who nodded in approval. "Good, then i can tell you about the test subjects project, so listen well."
