Tyler24
Brandon had a terrible week at work. Everyone was out sick leaving him with much more to do than normal. When Friday afternoon rolled around he couldn't wait to leave for a weekend getaway in the mountains. If all went according to plan, he wouldn't be back in the office for a week or more. He drove home as quickly as possible to pack. Once Brandon was home, he changed out of his suit and tie into some more comfortable sweats. He started to quickly gather what he needed for the weekend and hopefully beyond. Brandon loaded his suitcase with thermals, pajamas, a robe, a few more sweats, and some favorite blankets. For good measure he added some hats, gloves, scarves, wool socks, and flannel boxers. He wanted to be prepared for anything. Brandon grabbed his toiletry bag and suitcase to put in the car. He backed out of the driveway and headed north to begin his weekend of relaxation and hopefully some misery. Link to comment
Tyler24
Part 1 continued: After an hour of driving, Brandon reached his destination, the Influenza Inn, a bed and breakfast that specialized in ensuring you ended up sick in bed with no appetite for breakfast. Brandon had heard from friends that this place was pretty good at leaving guests feverish, chilled, achy, and downright miserable. He gathered his belongings and headed into the main entrance. Brandon was greeted by a doorman who was clearly unwell. Not only did his pajamas and robe give him away but his constant sneezing was a major clue. The doorman welcomed Brandon with a congested double directly in the face. He quickly apologized and sat down wrapping himself in a blanket. The doorman directed Brandon into the main living room to meet his host and hopefully become a host for a nasty virus. "Welcome Mr. Winter!", said the host. I am so glad you selected the Influenza Inn. First, I need to take your temperature and conduct a brief health evaluation. After a few minutes the host said, "You appear relatively healthy! We must fix that!" The host asked a few questions to determine how to best infect Brandon. Brandon explained how he wanted something that would put him in bed for awhile. The host decided that the flu and/or pneumonia would do the trick. He directed Mr. Winter to his room and asked the doorman to carry Brandon's luggage for him. Link to comment
Tyler24
Brandon could not have been more excited. He entered his room making note that the door know was wet. Upon first glance, there were used tissues all over the bed, a thermometer in the bathroom, and the windows were wide open letting in the frigid mountain air. Brandon was brought back to reality by a hacking cough behind him. It was the doorman. Brandon figured he was about 30 but he looked so exhausted it was hard to tell. The man's black hair was plastered to his head by sweat and the bags under his eyes were very dark. "I'm Tim", the doorman said as he extended his hand. Brandon quickly shook it but noticed it was quite wet. Tim explained that it was his job to help Brian unpack and make sure his body was ready to host a virus. Link to comment

Tyler24
Tim started unpacking Brandon's suitcase. He put the extra blankets on the bed and put most of the clothes away except for a pair of fleece footie pajamas. Tim asked Brandon if he was feeling cold. "A little. Can you close the windows?" Tim replied, "Not tonight!" Instead Tim told Brandon that he would need to remove his sweats and sit by the window all night. Tim also told Brandon, "You won't be sleeping either!" Brandon was a bit confused but he needed to use the restroom. He excused himself. When he returned he was wearing just his boxer briefs and annoyed that there wasn't any soap. Tim who was now wearing the pair of footed pajamas, explained that soap would only help to kill germs, the opposite of the goal. "Why are you wearing my pajamas?", Brandon inquired. Tim answered quickly, "Because I feel awful and you will be taking care of me this evening. Besides, in the morning you will be putting them on after I get my germs on them. The night dragged on. Brandon's teeth chattered and his body was covered in goosebumps. Tim kept him busy with requests for temp checks, cool cloths, more blankets, and Nyquil. When Brandon wasn't running around the coughing, sneezing, and congested snores from the bed kept him alert. When morning arrived Tim didn't look much better and Brandon was miserable from not sleeping and shivering. Tim told Brandon, "Time for breakfast. Let's head to the kitchen." Link to comment

Tyler24
"Before we head to breakfast though, let's get you ready", said Tim as he was unzipping the footie pajamas he had slept in last night. "Here, put these on and let's put your robe on over it". Brandon could not have been happier to warm up. He was also excited to see Tim standing there in a red union suit. Tim blushed when he noticed Brandon's gaze making his fever colored cheeks even brighter. He put his flannel pajamas and robe back on from the day before. Brandon and Tim made their way to breakfast where the host greeted them. The host asked Brandon how his night was to which Brandon responded, "perfectly awful". The host was very happy to hear this news and patted Tim on the back sending him into a coughing fit. Brandon instinctively rubbed his back to help him gain some composure. While they were waiting for breakfast the host brought them both a heated throw blanket which was greatly appreciated since the kitchen felt frigid. Link to comment
Tyler24
After a short wait breakfast arrived. It was a large mug of hot tea and a generous bowl of oatmeal. The only problem is that there was only one and one spoon. Brandon was again confused. He looked to Tim who was sneezing right into the meal. Tim apologized and explained that sharing would help spread germs between them which of course was the goal. Link to comment

Tyler24
Tim fed Brandon every other bite of oatmeal. He was sure to lick the spoon before sharing. Brandon also drank the tea every time Tim had a sip to sooth his raw throat and ease his awful congestion. "How are you feeling?", Tim inquired. "Very tired and a bit chilled", Brandon replied. Tim quickly took his electric heated throw and put it over Brandon which caused him to shake from the sudden chill. Brandon was most grateful. At the same time the host stopped by with an oversized handkerchief for Brandon to clean up with. The only catch was the handkerchief was full of germs and mucus from some other sick visitors. Brandon willingly put it to his face in the hopes that he would be sicker than Tim shortly. He really wanted to spend time in bed away from work. Link to comment

Tyler24
Tim asked Brandon how he was feeling so that he could plan the rest of their day. Brandon replied that he was not having any flu symptoms as of yet. Tim quickly said, "We're working on fixing that! Let's go to the movie room for a few hours and I'll call room service to your room." "Room service?", Brandon inquired. Tim explained that three extremely ill individuals would be sent to stay in the room while they were in the movie room. They don't clean but instead spread their germs everywhere so that when you return you are susceptible to multiple illnesses. "Follow me", Tim said. "It is time to guarantee you at least the flu!" The movie room was very small but filled with the necessities to send someone into a sneezing fit. Brandon entered and immediately sat down on the couch, resting his head on the goose down pillow. Tim, feeling equally exhausted did the same but the feathers made him sneeze uncontrollably. Sneezes filled with flu germs hit Brandon in the face non stop. Finally, after 30 minutes, Tim put the pillows aside. He put some illness episodes on for them both to watch and took out a thermometer. Tim took his temp first, 102.4 and then quickly put it in Brandon's mouth. Brandon's temperature was 99.5. Something was brewing but Brandon was feeling chilled despite his evelevated temp even with his footed pajamas and robe. Just then the host entered the room. "It sounds like your room is just about ready! I sent our three sickest guests in so we can help ensure bed is the only place you will want to be for at least a week!" Before he left he handed Brandon a bag of supplies for his impending misery. Link to comment
Tyler24
Brandon looked in the bag to see what was inside. He found a bright red onesie like the one Tim had on, slippers, a heating pad, an ice pack, a thermometer, some hankies, and Vick's vapor rub. "There is no medicine?", Brandon wondered allowed. Tim replied, "You said you wanted to be sick for a while!". "Well, let's go back to your room", Tim suggested. Brandon, starting to feel sluggish, quickly followed behind. Link to comment
Tyler24
When they arrived, Brandon noticed that the door know was wet again. They went inside to see the three "room service" guys getting ready to go. It was clear that they were extremely unwell. All three wore pajamas, a robe, slippers, and a mound of blankets around their shoulders. One of them wore a hat, scarf, and long johns. "I'm Nick" he coughed into Brandon's face. "Sorry" he mumbled. Nick explained that he has had a pneumonia for 10 days so far. His fever clearly had him in a state of hot chills. "Why don't you stay for awhile?", Brandon offered. Nick quickly accepted. His fever was getting unbearable so he went back into Brandon's room and gave Tim his hat, scarf, long johns, and blankets. Nick laid on the coach with just a t shirt and boxers as sweat dripped down his face. He instructed Tim to help the now shivering Brandon into the extra layers and bed. When Brandon emerged from the bathroom he was clearly unwell. He was dressed in countless layers, his face was pale, and his cheeks were bright red. His temperature was up to 101.9 when Brandon rechecked it in the bathroom. He carefully slid under the covers thinking about all the missed work days ahead of him. The rest of the flu symptoms awaited him in the afternoon. Link to comment
Tyler24
Tim went over to Brandon's bed to help get him comfortable. "That flu hit you pretty quickly. How many layers do you have on?". "Yes, and so far I only have chills and a fever" replied Brandon through chattering teeth. "I'm wearing Nick's thermals, the red union suit from the bag, my footed pajamas, flannel pajamas, a robe, hat, scarf, and slippers but I'm still cold!" Tim helped pile thick, warm blankets on top of Brandon and rubbed his back to get him to sleep. Once Brandon was set, Tim checked on Nick who was starting to shiver. He got a king sized electric blanket from the closet for them to share. Within 10 minutes all three of them were sound asleep. Link to comment
Tyler24
Five hours later, Tim's hacking cough woke up Nick who was now shivering despite the heated blanket he had on. Tim crawled out from under the blanket and guided Nick to Brandon's clothing drawer since Brandon had put on Nick's thermals. Tim gave him a union suit and sweats to put on. Unfortunately, for Tim, Nick was coughing uncontrollably all over him. Tim couldn't catch a break, he had been sick for two weeks so far and it was clear more time in bed would follow. Then Tim remembered that Brandon really wanted to be ill. The flu was starting to wreck havoc on his body but a bacterial pneumonia would keep him in bed much longer. Tim called Nick over to Brandon's bed. He pulled back the covers and helped the severely ill Nick into bed next to the clearly sick Brandon. Congested snores mixed with rattling coughs as Tim debated what to do next. Link to comment

Tyler24
Tim didn’t have much time to figure out what to do next. He immediately was overcome by a massive sneezing fit. After 5 extremely wet triples his hands were covered in mucus and Brandon was now awake from the noise. Brandon was clearly much worse than when he went to sleep. His chesty coughs brought Tim to his bedside. Tim wiped the mucus on Brandon's blankets and grabbed a thermometer 🌡. He instructed Brandon to stick it under his tongue. Beeeppp!! Within moments a reading of 104.4 lit up the screen. Tim asked Brandon his current symptoms. "I'b really congested, extremely achy from head to toe, exhausted, freezing 🥶 and sweating 😓, aaachooo!" Was Brandon's reply. "You are really sick so let me call the front desk", Tim responded. Brandon thought about how great the Influenza Inn was even though he could barely move. Link to comment
