    • It has to have a plot for me to read it, sneezing or not!

I don't know if this has been asked before, so if it has, all of you "topic Nazis", back off! I want to know AGAIN!

What is it that makes a story enjoyable for you? Does it matter if it has a plot? Do you like a good story with a few well placed sneezes? Or do you just want the main character(s) to sneeze constantly?

I personally HAVE to have a plot to read it/write it. While I do enjoy a good amount of sneezing, there also has to be a story there as well.

Anyone else?

Even though I'm a literature student I like my sneeze fiction as sneezy as possible with little plot (except the parts about how much the characters need to sneeze, that is  )

I guess I can't just make them sneeze over and over with no purpose.....the (current) Muse might hack my head off if I did that to him! :innocent: And his sword is looooooooong and sharp . . . *throws kleenex at him and hides*

For some WEIRD reason, I will write and think to myself, "does that sneeze serve a purpose right there?" before I put it in. If it's just to make him sneeze, I usually frown and then write it into a moment that is more "sneeze worthy".

What the hell? :drool::lol:

to be honest, i just read sneeze fiction for the sexy sneezing, not the plot. if i wanted a plot i'd read one of the books on my bookshelf that i've been resolving for months to finish.

A plot with lots of sneezes always works for me! I love plot, that's what makes a story a story.

It's kinda like with Lord of the Rings. I must be the only kid in my whole high school who cares about the story. I just recently brought in the Return of the King Extended Edition to watch in class, and people told me to skip right to the battle scenes and I was thinking: " :innocent: Why?! The story is MUCH more important! " lol

I know what you mean about LOTR ilikesneezes, I always think if you just want a battle put the history channel on! Anyways personally I think if I want a wonderful plot i'll read a book, so whilst some plot is important is mainly about the sneezes in my view!

I suppose what bothers me is something like this:

She woke up sneezing.

"Achoo, Achoo, acchoooo!"

She walked to the kitchen and just kept sneezing more and more.

"Achoo, Achoo, acchoooo!"

She made some coffee and kept on sneezing.

"Achoo, Achoo, acchoooo!"

She drank it and sneezed some more. (you get the point).

Now, I know that some people LIKE that, but it is just not my thing and I am unable to write it (other than in jest).

But, as I have always said, "to each his/her very own!"

I must say I don't like that, purely because it's not very well described sneezing, rather than the story's plot or lack thereof. Well described sneezes is what I love in stories, descriptions so that you can almost see it (or even feel it) in your mind. But that's just me.

PLOT please - the mind must see the place, the scene the character and be drawn in - Draw me in and make me read - sneeze where it fits, if it fits, but above all else take me to that special place.

So nicely said.

As for me, I think that if i want something like the thing on "exhibit A", I would just write "achoo" and cut and paste it x times.

I mean, whitout a plot, a fleshing in the characters, a story becames an observation, a description... wich can be of course nice, but that is just not what i am looking for when reading fiction. Of course, things like haeeshoo's "Sneezy Story" shows that a vignette, a description of a scene can be poetry without need of superfluous elements, right to the point but incredibly descriptive at one time, and all that with just one sneeze he didn't even spells (but you can still hear in the name of the character).

And who said that a well written story cannot be very sneezy? Mr. Sneezy's "Cherie and Karen", for instance, shows a great work on the fleshing of the characters and the creation of the atmosphere, and it's very sneezy.

Just a thought.

Awww, thanks, Nosferatu. I put a lot of work into those stories, the final one which was completed and submitted a few weeks ago.

But the thing is that there must be a plot if the story is to be any good. I started off with just a sneezing fit, a history of the two characters and some lovemaking. This being long before I had heard of Serotica or knew anything about the internet.

As I developed my characters and thought of more plots and storylines, the sneezing became a backdrop, interlinked into colds and hay fever, essential for the existence of the story, but not its central issue.

Plot. I enjoy your stories so much more (and those of a few others here on the forum) because your plots are SO good.... I'm very picky about my porn  Picky about wavs too, but not as much as stories :innocent:

Thank you, Lynne! It's nice to know that my efforts at actual plot are appreciated by some...hehehe...

Not to put ANYONE down for their writing style, but damn . . .sometimes it's HARD to come up with a good plot and cleverly weave sneezing into it!

I can write straight sneezing like there is no tomorrow......

Skada does plot weaving VERY well as does Kitty as well as Nermal. TMA and Wascally Wabbit also have fantastic plots with enough sneezing to make me tremble. There are several other talented writers on here that I KNOW I am forgetting, but those are a few of the ones I will ALWAYS read.

Thanks for the comments....it really made me feel as if my efforts are not in vain so far as plot goes! *hugs Lynne tightly!*

A little bit of plot is fine, but, you know, I'm just here for the sneezes. If I want an in-depth plot, I'll read a book.

*hugs* Thanks frack- I was really honored to be included in list of authors with plot. :innocent::lol:

I personally Need a plot- that is why I love your stories. Love Kitty's and Skada's Too. Oh- and the prose that WW had in the beach story was Lovely.

In addition- tg's and vatergirl.

I think that in addition I really enjoy original characters. Not that I haven't Absolutely adored well written stories that were fanfictions- but.... I don't know just something about originals.

For me I Need the set up- that is what gets me going. For me it isn't just the sneezing- it's the sweetness or desire or other background and sneezing part makes the moment just perfect.

I don't even care if there is an entire chapter or two with no sneezing- just setting up characters and situations. I'd rather have the characters and situation that they are in well established and then set me up for the good stuff.

I'm starting to get the idea that plot is more important to the women than the men . . . very interesting, indeed! *strokes chin thoughtfully* Or maybe I'm retarded and it's the other way around!

I definately need a plot, mainly to know what is going on, where they are, what causes the sneezes, etc. I don't exactly need an award-winning plot, but something that is enjoyable to read.

A sneeze is good. A forbidden or reluctant sneeze is better. You can’t have the latter without some form of plot or reason. I chose plot because, for me, it enhances the quality of the sneezes whether they are numerous or not. I won’t rule out a simple action packed fiction all together though, sometimes it’s just as enjoyable to read something easy and fun. :blushing:

That is exactly how I feel! :blushing:

I like it when the situation surrounding the sneeze is explained very well. I don't care for things that just suddenly make the main character sneeze without reason. It's almost like the writer said, "okay, time to make them sneeze!" and just threw it in there. I would MUCH rather have a little tension.....make me wait for it.

Kinda like in real life.....
