"I have a cold, but you sneezed"...I'm going to guess that 1 is in fact getting 2's cold but has no idea and is in for a surprise in a day or two.  Or has an inkling but is in denial about it.  At least, in a perfect world where everything works like a sneezefic, that's what would be up.
