I never played with dolls (obviously) but I just saw something I think is cool,

ok so I was just talking with a friend of mine on facebook, her nickname is "Quiet" (Julie) is a high functioning Black woman with Down's Syndrome, anyways she told me Mattel the company which makes the Barbie dolls is coming out with a brand new Barbie doll. she was pretty happy and excited about the idea because the cool thing about it is the new Barbie doll is a Downs syndrome doll, apparently the company Mattel actually went to the National Downs Syndrome Society to make certain the new doll is accurate in the physical characteristics of Downs Syndrome as well as other things that have special meanings like the color of the clothes included and the markings of it's necklace. "Quiet" was disappointed in that she's too old to play with dolls so she can't really get one but and it's not Black like her, still the fact Mattel is trying to make such a doll to include little girls with downs is really awesome!
