Poppy
The stuff they put on there is kinda offensive to us fetishists. I've got to admit - the fiction is just about the most amazingly ridiculous, amusing stuff I've ever read... I guess they just dont understand us... I guess everyone does have their own feelings on this. I was very offended by the "Amazingly Ridiculious" part. But they cannot understand what we are like. This really ticks me off... (Just my opinion)~Tubas Link to comment

(Just my opinion)~TubasThat is what I mean! I was very offended as well! One thing I can't stand is when this stuff happens to me in real life (verses the computer). I had a friend who I told about my fetish, and now tothis day I am still offended by her comment after I told her..."Dang! I ain't sneezing in front of you!" that is exactly what she said to me. But that is what this post is about, how offensive what they typed is. Link to comment
Guest Kelly
I really don't find myself too offended. I mean, we do have a rather peculiar fetish. Everyone's gotta have some kinda quirk in the bedroom. Link to comment
liricospinto
I think it's somewhat in the nature of fetishism that it is incomprehensible, laughable, or perhaps downright disgusting to someone who doesn't share the particular fetish. Link to comment
The Sneezster
To be fair, I've written stories on this site, and I'd characterize much of what I've written here to be "amazingly ridiculous." I mean, Watson sneezing on Sherlock Holmes? That IS amazingly ridiculous. Link to comment
_Thread
I laughed when I read the first paragraph of that I can't agree with that person (As I don't read fetish fiction), I just found that reaction amusing Link to comment
K.Matsuri
But - I've got to admit - the fiction is just about the most amazingly ridiculous, amusing stuff I've ever read. I mean, check it out - "She was very cute about it, not looking sick and overpowered but her nose wrinkling up cutely and twitching only a second before her head bobbed forward and she made the delightful sound." (That particular one is listed as having adult content, but the whole site is really quite tame if you're worried.) Ya know, I wouldn't call the types of sounds I'm making "delightful," but, in some weird way, it kind of makes me feel better that someone would. -_^You know, I think her reaction could have been worse. I mean, she says it's ridiculous, but she also says it's amusing. I would have to agree that if you step back and look at it from an outsider's perspective, some of it is rather funny. I like that last sentence, that it makes her feel better knowing that someone appreciates her misery. One man's trash is another man's treasure...or something? She didn't just say "Eww that's gross!!", she was mature about it. I see nothing wrong with her post Link to comment
shy_obsession
Oh, I saw this too, but I just kind of set it aside and ignored it because I know that's the general reaction of anyone who doesn't have this fetish. I mean, they just don't see sneezing the way we do. I try to tell myself that if I found a, say, toenail fetish or something, I would probably be amused/freaked out, too. She could have been a lot more offensive, so I'm glad she didn't totally insult us or anything. Link to comment
Niceguy
*shrugs*What can I say? The best examples of "our" fiction ARE ridiculously amusing. That goes for what I've written as well. That's what makes it worthwhile. It could have been worse. (Heck... It's BEEN worse!)But - should you ever find yourself in a position where you feel compelled to judge someone else's lifestyle/preference/fetishes /etc... Just remember well how that blog made you feel, and frame your own thoughts and expressions accordingly. (And don't I know that can be dang hard to do at times!) Link to comment
Lynne
meh. pretty mild, as it could have gone. Seriously, who cares what some random stranger thinks? Link to comment
Lalena
I'm not offended at all ... I think it's really HOT that we get turned on but just a natural thing that happens everyday around us. Who cares if other people understand it? I wouldn't trade having this fetish for another one in a million years.I also agree that what she said was very mild and mature, and I agree that a sneeze fetish is amusing. I consider foot fetishes amusing as well ... I mean, who gets turned on by feet?! Guess what, a lot of people, but saying its amusing or ridiculous is not saying its bad ... just different. I think that's what this girl was trying to say when she wrote that. Link to comment

Bondi
Considering that the article was posted six years ago and the site mentioned in it doesn't even exist anymore, I'm really not all that concerned about it. Link to comment
tma
Just have to comment about the stories thing. I sort of think that it is amusing and kind of true about the "unrealistic" nature of some of the stories. Some MUCH more so than others. But honestly.... I think that ANY type of fetish fic would be the same way. I've read some "kink-fics" and some even some "hurt/comfort" ficts that I LOVE but if they could Realistically happen....errrr.... probably not.To me there is a line between where something is real enough for me to suspend disbelief and where it just gets TOO absurd. And I would think that if sneezing isn't a person's "thing" that seeing a fic. where someone sneezes more than 20 times in in relatively short amount of time would make it really surreal. Even though it can happen. I mean- We notice it- but there is a reason that we do. Other people- it might not occur to them.Sorry if I'm not making sense. But I did find the comment humourous. Bondi
Well, I'll admit that if I didn't have a sneeze fetish, I definitely wouldn't like most of the stories people post here or find any interest or pleasure in reading them. But at the same time, when you think about it, are the plots to many of them really anymore ridiculous than normal erotica or a porn movie, etc.? Link to comment

When I said I am offended by this, I think I was being a bit overdramatic because I had had some personal issues with my sneeze fetish in real life, (That didnt connect to this board what-so-ever) But I do agree, if I wasn't a fetishists, I would find some of these stories a bit disturbing and awkward.~Tubas Link to comment
Secret98
It's things like that, that really makes me wish I didn't have this fetish Most people I told when I was younger thought I was a wierdo, and I decided to never tell anyone about this fetish ever again because of reasons like that. I mean, I lost 2 months worth of sleep because of this fetish and the anxiety related to, caused by my father's perfectionism, and his belief that having this fetish means Im not perfect (which I could never be perfect and never was anyways) I have only had bad experiences related to my fetish... which only makes me want to get rid of it. But this forum has been so helpful to my anxiety around this fetish and has made me feel better about having it ~Thank Yous for helping feel better about this fetish~ Link to comment
Geist
Hmm, Sara....I know this sounds easier than it actually is, but.....choose NOT to let people bother you. Think about this:We have the EASIEST fetish in the whole world. Not everyone likes to wear nylons, not everyone likes to wear high heels, not everyone has long hair, but EVERYONE....not matter WHO they are....sneezes. EVERYONE. Therefore, EVERYONE is capable of doing our fetish at some point. That's pretty damned lucky, if you ask me.That person wasn't really cruel. S/he just didn't understand and people often poke fun at what they do not understand. (Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of THIS ONE most of my life! )Rise above it. The article is VERY old, anyway. ~Aku Link to comment
S_L
EVERYONE....not matter WHO they are....sneezes. EVERYONE.To the outside world I last sneezed in 1992. I pity the poor person following me around in thrall of catching a repeat performance. Link to comment

Guest
It has to be said, some fiction we get here is drivel. Not because of the content (necessarily), but because sometimes a bad writer wants to write something. Big deal, people sell crappy books all the time. Look at Posh Spice.People are idiots about the fetish now. I am uncomfortable with coming out with it, not because I don't like who I am, but because I don't want to have to endure everyone giving me wierd looks. I get it occasionally as I let it slip a while back, and it's not destroying me inside, but it does get annoying as hell. Fake sneezes rom some GUY a few years younger than me? Ugh. Link to comment
