ok...so i went to this conference this weekend....with a whole big bunch of biologists...and got obs galore!! ill just give ya'll two of the more notable ones here though....

first...one of the organizers, a middle aged British man, with a lovely accent, and a terrible headcold. this man blew his nose every ten minutes. (and im not exxagerating) the day was divided into fifteen minute talking intervals, and he blew his nose, into a hankie a few times, and then turned over to a few napkins, at least twisce during every single talk...sometimes more than that. he had a rather loud, resonant blow, the kind that doesn't sound too wet, and about half the time it had a little bit of a honk to it. i stopped counting at 40 blows (not to mention i had a bit of trouble paying attention throughout the actual talking) but he took the time to tell me about his cold later. and im fairly certain he took the time to share it as well! by the end of the conference, at least half of us were sniffling too.

second...we stayed at a casino facility, and they randomly divided the presenters into rooms, so i had a roommate. she was a pretty girl, about 24, with a roundish nose, and seemed to be healthy enough. no sniffles or sneezing or anything...but after about twenty minutes in the room...she walked into the bathroom...and then i heard it.... it was quite possibly the loudest honk ive ever heard from a girl in my life. i didint know girls could make sounds like that!! and she kept doing this...every hour or so, for three days. anytime we were in the room, she would blow her nose. generally, they started off soft, like she was warming up, and then HONK!!!!

well...ive never posted a RF obs before....so i hope that this was a decent read. if ive left out any details, just ask and ill try to fill them in as best i can.
