A new article in New Scientist about how being ill with a rhinovirus can keep you from being ill with H1N1 Flu. Yet another thing I can like about having a cold.

Fascinating how that works, isn't it? Like your immune system deciding to take one for the team.

Is this true ? I don't know. But children are affected most, and it also them who are most frequently infected with rhinovirus as well.

Fact is that in European countries swine flu hasn't spread as rapidly as scientists had expected. Can't there be a genetic clue as well ?

Remember how part of the European population turned out to be immune to Black Death in the middle ages. But the US-population also consists of descendants of European immigrants, so probably no point.

Awesome, I always get a cold. Not much of a sacrifice to avoid getting H1N1.
